Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Agreed about the cauliflower and cheese comments.
By the way, did anyone else watch the 'What's The Right Diet For You?' show on BBC's Horizon last night? What a fantastic programme!
They profiled 75 people to understand why they had problems losing weight. Medical and nutritional experts tested their hormones, genes and attitudes towards food, categorising them into three groups: Constant Cravers, Feasters and Emotional Eaters. The experts then gave each group a different diet to follow, using a scientific approach to weight loss.
To get everyone into an invigorated, supportive and 'see what you can do if you try' mood, they took everyone to a disused 100' high lighthouse(?) and got them abseiling down the side of it.
Well! Imagine all these unfit fatties' faces when they saw what they were expected to do! They were in shock, awe and tears - and also all of them felt 'beaten before they got started'.
And then ONE of the dieters was talked to persuasively and pushed (?) into actually doing it. She succeeded! Fantastic! The tears stopped instantly and elation started instead. It motivated everyone elese to have a go and they all succeeded too. Of course, now everyone was cheering along and supporting everyone else!
End result? They are now highly motivated to try the suggested diets and, not only that, they are also highly motivated to try and supportingly motivate each other too.
The idea with the diets is to pick the right type of diet for you after testing you with a Quiz and then get you eating in a way whereby the body will start producing ketones from body fat. This means the body fat gets used up and lost from the body - ie. you lose weight!
Importantly, it means you aren't just burning up some of calories from the food you eat and piling the unused ones into surplus body fat. ie. and thus making you gain weight.
I looked at some of the suggested menus too. They do look tasty. I think my wife and I are going to be converts to this. We both eat virtually the same stuff, but I generally eat more of it and also snack on a few things too. Hence, she is a healthy 5' 7" and 10st 7lbs with a BMI of around '23' and I'm an unhealthy 5'10" and 16st 0lbs with a BMI of around '32'. I need to lose around 4 stones. This diet method may be the best way.
Program 2 is tonight. Use 'Catch Up TV' if you missed it.

Exec,
If you drink alcoholic drinks, stop completely for 14 days and weigh yourself every morning at approximately the same time.
Write the weight down with the weight you wish to achieve.
Stay on your food intake as it is, other than reducing carbohydrates by half.
Increase, your coffee intake, as long as it is black and you don't already have a high intake.

Try it.
At least it won't harm you physically, but there are many wives who prefer their husbands drunk!

University Hospital of Wales staff switched for A&E duty
6 hours ago
The chief executive of Wales' biggest hospital, which a nurse said is more stressful to work in than a warzone, has said staff have been redeployed to cope with winter pressures.
Adam Cairns, head of Cardiff's University Hospital of Wales, said it had been "relentless" in accident and emergency.
It comes after the senior nurse said the stress A&E staff faced is worse than she faced on the frontline during the second Iraq war.
She said she had to make decisions "that put patients at risk and put the staff under extreme pressure".
