THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

The Thather photograph reminds me Albert Pierrepoint in drag.

I quite like reading the Hodges articles, he's very blunt.

But he is also wrong.

Millibandus might well be a gift to the tories, no doubt to others too.

But the Tories cannot command the allegiance of the natural tory voters anymore, also he dismisses white van man at his peril. There's a lot of them!

There were a lot of football hooligans in white vans.

There doesn't seem so many now!

Red Ed 'turns blind eye to his party's shame in Wales': Miliband accused of hypocrisy for ignoring crisis while trying to score political points from problems in England

More than 100 patients sign letter saying Miliband has ignored Wales NHS

They have also demanded a full inquiry into the Welsh NHS's troubles

Mr Miliband criticised for ignoring failings and trying to reap electoral profit from England's Health Service problems

Wasn't this the guy who delivered papers via the back garden gate to Davy Cameron and have a cup of tea in the kitchen?

Before riding on one of Beccy horses!

The mansion tax seems quite reasonable to me. Needs the regulations more tightly drawn up.

Part of London's problem is/was due to London weighting. Giving once again financial advantage to some of its residents.

----------

Did I hear Cameron claim to be living on his salary as PM.

Can't recall mentioning "expense" account or wife's income or any trusts?

Perhaps, I am getting deaf.

Does anybody doubt that the Iraq war report will be anything than a whitewash ?......or even if it isn't, it will be presented as such by the corrupt media !...

One of the rewards of old age.

You seem to have arrived at the station a little earlier than some!

Strange, while female genital mutilation is condemned and prosecuted in this country!

The cartoon was described as 'deeply offensive'

The cartoon, which was published in Norway’s Dagbladet newspaper on Tuesday, shows a Rabbi with a devil’s pitchfork stabbing a baby in the head. A woman is cutting off the child’s toe, while blood spurts over a religious book. In the caption the woman tells a policeman: “Mistreating? No, this is tradition, an important part of our belief!” The officer retorts: “Belief? Oh yes, then it is all right.”

In response, Dr Moshe Kantor, the President of the EJC, said: “This cartoon has crossed all lines of decency and is dripping with hate and anti-Semitism. We are now studying the possibility that this legally constitutes incitement to hatred and even a hate crime and will require legal action if this proves to be the case.”

MaxK - 21 Jan 2015 09:15 - 55405 of 81564

That's a pretty nasty "cartoon"

I wonder if Dagbladet would be quite so pointed with the mufti's?

Fred1new - 21 Jan 2015 09:42 - 55406 of 81564

Max,

So is FGM.

Do you ban the cartoon.

It draws attention to an unnecessary operation (generally) or "mutilation" of an infant based on "belief".

Is a cartoon only of amusement, or is it to draw to attention to the "pain" behind the "observation"?

ummmmh!
