Wouldn't expect a trend today.
Market is looking to tomorrow.
We've got Michegan Confidence numbers, October retail figures,
jobless claims, and I think Walmart is due to report shortly.

Hope you got in on the rise Zarif?
I take it you won't be here tomorrow if your off to Harrogate.
It will be rather dull without you unless we get another day like today.
Have a good day and see you back no doubt on Friday.

I wasnot in time to take another long out as didnot expect it to shoot up like that.

Hi all! New to this thread.
Scalped Dow for 65, which was nice.
What will the last hour bring? Retracement or advance, key pivot moving horizontal at the moment!

hkfooey:
the trin is showing .50 and very bullish.I think it should drop a bit but might just shoot up and the best course would be to just watch it as its trendless at present with the bond market closed and figures coming out tomorrow.

Short the December future @ 9831. Looking for 50 point correction early tomorrow after todays rise.
9850 seems to be strong resistance.
The 'system' is long.
Good luck.

evening everyone - looks like i missed an interesting day - can't believe you chaps didn't catch this one.....although there seemed to be little volatility, the rise was nice and steady - hardly what you'd expect after the past few days, i guess.
very much a case of 'following the trend'
Snobal - if the SYSTEM is long why are you not going with it?

Terod, I reserve the right to ignore the system! :-)
As it happens my instincts were right (for a change) and the price dropped.
Unfortunately the December Wall st Future high today was precisely at my stop and the price went there before it dropped. It's tricky trying to place stops.
I'm beginning to think that all this talk of using stops is a load of codswallop. It seems to me that when you place stops you guarantee the trade will terminate at a loss.
The reason I ignored the system was that after large moves like yesterday there are often corrective moves in the opposite direction the following day. So I thought it was worth a scalp.
Where is averybody? I've been working today so haven't been watching the market 'til now.

Hi Snowball,
I believe Zarif is at the NW Traders Day at Harrogate. I suspect he will be racing back to try and catch some of the action.
You were almost spot on about a 50 point retracement from the highs of yesterday - good call.
I've no idea where it's going from here, have you?

Afternoon everybody:
Sorry wasnot in yesterday as went to Harrogate meeting. It was a great day out very pleasurable and with lots of speakers giving very sound advice and methodology. I recommend you try and visit next venues if u can as it will greatly improve your trading skills and approach to the market.
Anyway back to our auction which starts in an hour how are we going to put our ship out to sea ?
I reckon with all the bullish scenario thats piled on it will continue with the trend upwards. There is definitely resistance at 9850 -which can become short term support. Also the ftse has been testing the 4400 levels again to nose up further.
Watch the matrket and let it guide your actions -our ship should go with the flow.Remember it is easier to swim with the current rather than against it -You can to an extent -but ultimately will tire u out and finally Pull u in (beware of the sharks)

took out a short in the beginning and netted 27pts x10 =270 notes then a long giving 105 notes.
have got a long opening at 9842 -wonder if it will get up there or might have to chase it down with a short. seems to be stuck around 9832 +/-say 11

9850 resistance looks a tough nut to crack. i can see it testing the lows at 9820 again.
