Hello Socks!
Not a lot of people know this...
Many years ago, pub frequenters had a whistle baked
into the rim or handle of their ceramic cups. When they needed a refill,
they used the whistle to get some service. "Wet your whistle"
is the phrase inspired by this fact.

Back in the good ol' days when customers got unruly, the bartender would yell at them "Mind your pints and quarts, and settle down." It's where we get the phrase "mind your Ps and Qs"

In my local when time is called, the landlord yells 'Time!' This is where we get the phrase "F**k off you w****r!"

I've just been very brave and downloaded Norton Internet Security 2005. Well I had little choice as my subscription to the 2003 version was 24 hours before expiry! However, downloading the new version has somehow overwritten the ad blocking option I had on before. I can't even see how to block adverts and AM suddenly looks multicoloured and adverts keep flashing at me! Please could some kind soul tell me which thingies to press to get all those horrid things to go away?
I'll be the one clutching a large glass of Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte in the comfy chair by the fire....

Evening all
Cilla - when you load up internet security you should have a screen with system status and then settings. In the setting bit the second option is ad blocking. If this says off then click on it and itll bring up an option to switch on. If this doesnt work, when you are in the moneyam page you should have a web assitant tab top right. if you click on this it has an option of block ads on this site - click on this to activate
hope this helps - spacey will probably give a far more technical response

Priscilla - did the same thing on November 29th and nothing has been the same since! Click on Norton Security symbol, then Norton Anti Spam, then turn on Ad blocking.............. however, mine is now turned off as it kept blocking all pop ups. It has been a nightmare. Wish I had taken someone's advice and just re-set my computer time and delayed the subscription expiry.
I would suggest you savour your drink and wait for opto to turn up, he will know what to do :-) However, I would love to keep you company with a glass of the Lafitte - everything will look rosier ...
