<>Desire Petroleum plc (Desire) is a UK company listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) dedicated to exploring for oil and gas in the North Falkland Basin.

Desire has recently completed a 6 well exploration programme. The Liz well encountered dry gas and gas condensate at 2 separate levels while other wells recorded shows.
Together with the Rockhopper Exploration Sea Lion oil discovery in the licence to the north, these wells have provided significant encouragement for the potential of the North Falkland Basin. The oil at Sea Lion is of particular interest as this has demonstrated that oil is trapped in potentially significant quantities in a fan sandstone on the east flank of the basin. It is believed that over 50% of this east flank play fairway is on Desire operated acreage.

Desire has now completed new 3D seismic acquisition which provides coverage over the east flank play, Ann, Pam and Helen prospects. The results from fast-track processing of priority areas are provided in the 2011 CPR. A farm-out to Rockhopper has been announced. The revised equities are shown on the licence map (subject to regulatory approval and completion of the farm-in well).

Exciting, looks like a great bear raid........

Can always say DES is exciting... :) LOL

Time Traveller - 30 Nov 2010 13:45 - 5592 of 6492

That's a big tree shake.
Nothing on the RNS front to account for it (yet).

Proselenes - 30 Nov 2010 13:50 - 5593 of 6492

RKH they spread a deliberate false rumour of super heavy oil to get the drop before the big news on Sea Lion.

Wonder if they have spread a "duster" rumour on DES to get it to drop before the news of an oil strike is released ?

Who knows.....

greekman - 30 Nov 2010 13:54 - 5594 of 6492

Someone is posting on a competitors site that, 'This share is a dog/The well is dry'
Mind you we saw the same type of posts pre the strike by Rockhopper. The truth is, that if anyone knows oil or not, they wont be passing the info onto us.
The thing is that whichever way it goes, there will be posters crowing how, They were right all along and I told you so.

HARRYCAT - 30 Nov 2010 14:17 - 5595 of 6492

Amazing bounce. Good luck to all who managed to play that one! If only.....!

robstuff - 30 Nov 2010 14:19 - 5596 of 6492

Who the hell would buy right now? it is so dodgy. Its bad enough holding some. Its got to come up a strike this time or it'll all be over for DES I fear.

Have some early morning posters being browning their pants this afternoon?

All "sauces" are now saying oil strike.

required field - 30 Nov 2010 15:57 - 5603 of 6492

I must be nuts...but have topped up.....very risky....but will stay put...they are not going to end the drilling campaign here...plenty more wells to come.....

dealerdear - 30 Nov 2010 16:25 - 5604 of 6492

This time RKH is falling with DES unlike yesterday when the rise in DES was not matched by the others. It suggested nothing more than games yesterday but with RKH falling now, perhaps there really is no oil.

How many people are being burnt I wonder?

markymar - 30 Nov 2010 16:26 - 5605 of 6492

I think it is to early to call this as they are still drilling.
