* Eurocopter flight trials successfully completed
* Additional German & US military purchases
* Additional working capital secured
SCOTTY Group plc, announces today that Eurocopter Deutschland ("Eurocopter"),
part of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company ("EADS"), has
confirmed that the official flight trials of its military helicopters which
contain SCOTTY's CH 53 SATCOM Mission equipment have passed successfully.
During the trials, the equipment was demonstrated to officials from the German
Army. SCOTTY has received positive feedback from the Ministry officials that
attended and can confirm that the project now enters a new phase in which every
effort is being made to speed up the procurement process necessary to finalise
the project and implement delivery.
In order to fund the additional working capital and costs incurred during the 6
week delay to the flight trials for the CH 53 programme, SCOTTY has secured a
convertible loan of #400,000 through a new facility provided by Headstart, with
the possibility for another #400,000 above that. SCOTTY's directors believe that
this facility could be repaid within the 60-day term of the loan if the delivery
programme with Eurocopter proceeds as they anticipate.
In addition to the Eurocopter project, SCOTTY expects to receive over #2 million
before the calendar year-end from the implementation and delivery of a number of
orders previously announced.
These also include the delivery of Euro720,000 worth of equipment including SCOTTY
Mobile Systems, SATCOM equipment and Telemedicine units to the German army in
this quarter. In addition, SCOTTY confirms that the US Army has deployed three
disaster co-ordination teams equipped with SCOTTY's video teleconferencing
equipment to the Gulf Coast states, which were affected by Hurricane Katrina.
Chief of Staff for the First U.S. Army, Col. James Hickey said: "Satellite
communications are often critical in a hurricane's aftermath. One of the things
we learned last year with the series of hurricanes that passed through Florida
was the need for satellite communications,"
"This storm will likely take out some key communications nodes, and cell phones
and landlines may not work for some time," he added.

EMS SATCOM Grows Business in Europe With SCOTTY Group plc Contract
Monday April 10, 11:11 am ET
Eurocopter Selects eNfusion HSD-128 High-Speed Data Terminal to Deliver Real-Time Video Capabilities to German Army CH53 Helicopters
OTTAWA, April 10, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- EMS SATCOM, a division of EMS Technologies Inc. (NasdaqNM:ELMG - News), reported today that Eurocopter Deutschland (``Eurocopter''), part of the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company (``EADS''), has selected the EMS SATCOM eNfusion(tm) HSD-128 high-speed data terminal as part of a communications solution developed by SCOTTY Group plc (``SCOTTY'') that will provide real-time tactical video transmission, videoconferencing and high-speed internet capabilities to German Army CH53 helicopters.
``This contract is a key milestone for our burgeoning business in Europe,'' said Neil Mackay, Senior Vice President and General Manager of EMS SATCOM. ``Working with SCOTTY, we have demonstrated that our eNfusion satellite-based communications systems are robust, key enablers for the German Army's CH-53 helicopters and their missions. We've seen that the demand, particularly from military programs, for these capabilities on mobile platforms continue to rise.''
The communications solution on board the German Army CH-53G helicopter is the result of a tri-lateral project, initiated and led by SCOTTY. Integrated by Eurocopter, the system consists of SCOTTY's video and data communication equipment, and EMS SATCOM's eNfusion system: HSD-128 high-speed data terminal, and Helicom -- AMT-50 high-gain antenna and customized radome. Installed and tested on the CH53-G helicopter in September of 2005, the solution delivers key capabilities to aircraft that previously only had access to high-frequency radio communications. The system's live in-flight tactical video imagery, videoconferencing, and high-speed Internet capabilities securely accessible around the globe and wherever the aircraft happens to be, provide substantial tactical and communications advantages.
``With real-time video capability that performs through even the most strenuous flight maneuvers, the German Army is now equipped with a critical resource, one that is well-suited to increasing operational effectiveness and situational awareness,'' noted Stephen Newell, Director of Military and Government Sales for EMS SATCOM. ``Our systems are upgradeable, SwiftBroadband-ready and deliver what our customers demand -- bandwidth.''
Kurt Kerschat, CEO of SCOTTY Group plc, said: ``This collaboration has produced an incredibly robust system. It meets the complex in-flight requirements of our customers, and we are pleased to have EMS SATCOM's equipment as part of this critical system.''
``The added communications capability opens a new perspective in the fulfillment of missions beyond line-of-sight,'' said Thilo Lees, Program Manager at Eurocopter. ``We see this equipment as the future basis for every kind of aircraft. In terms of connectivity it is the only system providing reliable out-of-area connections; real accessibility is no longer a dream.''

"Soul traders" looks like you feelings are justified - this business just does't have that loving feeling anymore. At these prices I might buy - but they can go lower - So will they need equity funding for these orders?
I would have though the business is at-last showing some gumption....at least that's one change over the last six years or more.

Thanks for the feedback, Hangon. Right now I'm reluctant to voice too negative an opinion in case the turnaround starts manifesting. Those larger orders look good for narrowing the full year loss a little.
SCO raised 2.4 mil in Placings in April; I'm not convinced this will be the last time they have to issue equity to raise funds, though. The directors, however, sounded very positive in the Interim results about the company being in a far stronger financial position and have terminated the agreement the company had with Headstart.
Buy on weakness if you're going to buy at all, is my guess. To me, it still looks risky, but at these levels you should at least be able to get your money back. It's understandable that some may be feeling disenchanted. Probably those who are in are wanting to get out and those who are out are thinking about getting in, both based on assessments of what is good value, although obviously if you've lost money it hurts!
Still, WDIK. All IMO, PDYOR, etc.
