Evening all! Did British telly show any of the World Cup opening celebrations from Frankfurt (11 p.m. Saturday)? They had music all over town and projections of football scenes on the skyscrapers.

Never mind if not; it wasn't a patch on the Olympics but pretty all the same.

England 1 - Paraquay 3. A good bet - get on.

bosley - 08 Jun 2006 14:45 - 64 of 403

very bad news coming from my boys. gattuso, zambrotta definately out for the opening game against ghana and nesta looks doubtful. ghana wont be an easy team to beat with players like essien and kuffour. gattuso v essien would have been great to watch :))

The latest on the Rooney injury is that he has been told he will only be able to play if he gets a cortizone injection. Beckham and Ferdinand have threatened strike action unless they get a new car as well.

The press are saying that the scan results for Rooney are the best possible news for England on the injury front. I disagree. The best news would be if Hargreaves had broken both his legs, making certain the swede was unable to pick him.

alan, i have similar feelings about totti (or twatti as he known to us). i was very annoyed that he he didn't lose his race against time. i was hoping time would have put up more of a fight and kept him injured !!!
