i know you're just playing devil's advocate, but i think as i suspect much of the electorate does, that open purse benefits is as unacceptable as open door immigration

gf I have no time for anyone who evades paying their dues. I have attended offices of both HMRC, and The Official Receiver as well as other agencies regarding 3 employers in my area for exactly that as well as fraud. The evidence is compelling and irrefutable yet both HMRC and the OR chose to put it on the back burner stating lack of manpower and prioritisation, as did our local constabulary, the fraud section in our area did have 11 officers but at the time of my visits that had been cut to 2. So these b's get away with it.

in my case, a legit claim for about £25k to be reimbursed from HMRC (VAT) has so far taken 3 years and has still not been resolved

but they're quick enough on the trigger if you owe even £100

Well yes Id say that kind of puts things into perspective and shows just how much the Tories and the Right Wing Press are conning the Gullible British Public.

Like I said the deficit could be paid overnight especially if you account for arrears of Tax avoided and evaded in the past three or four years where investigations are ongoing.

George did you know that George Osbourne is currently sitting on a NI budget surplus of £30 billion, yes £30 billion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Ask yourself why is the NHS in such a mess then.

No one pays tax they don't have to.

I've always took the view that if it can't be proven you owe it then nothing is due.

You owe it to the people who have to pay extra because a small % of greedy bastards who know they can get away with it, because of a government who dont care and can make more political gain out of literally a handful of poor people in order to help there election chances.
