How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Anyone on the footy this afternoon?

Never thought I'd ever see ManU at such long odds at home!

Hi Steve

No positions here either. But always ready to jump on anything decent later on!

scalping by laying chelsea for a few points but looks a pretty poor game so far

Nice work!

a tad fortunate but just couldnt see chelsea making any attempt to score so felt scalping was quite safe - tempted to put the profit either onto united or a lay of united - be very surprised if it finishes 1-0

Did you manage to get the Inside Edge magazine? Mine dropped through the door yesterday. There's a really decent article about betting exchange tips, one of which was to back the draw if still level at approx 75mins and at more or less even odds. Draw odds go into freefall by 40-60 ticks in the next 5 mins if still level.

I gave it a go on the Oldham FA cup game earlier and it worked like a treat!

bakko - 06 Nov 2005 17:30 - 5618 of 10502

Fundamentalist - 06 Nov 2005 17:33 - 5619 of 10502

i bet its the first time Utd have been 1-0 up at home with 15 mins to go and available at 1.45

bakko - 06 Nov 2005 17:35 - 5620 of 10502

Odds should collapse quite quickly now

Fundamentalist - 06 Nov 2005 17:49 - 5621 of 10502

Fair play to united if they hold on - but 4 mins of added time - Fergies doing his nut lol

Nicely green on both United and Draw

bakko - 06 Nov 2005 17:49 - 5622 of 10502

All green now after a good scalping mission

Fundamentalist - 06 Nov 2005 17:52 - 5623 of 10502

Looks like Mourinho will have to ask that nice Mr Abramovic for another 50-100m to spend in the january sales lol

bakko - 06 Nov 2005 17:55 - 5624 of 10502

Well done Reds!.....A well deserved and needy victory.
