Dont you usually install the drivers/software first then the device finds them

Agree with Haystack, all you probably need to do is transfer the files with a drag and drop.

My shuffle conundrum.
In fact there are dozens of similar media players around. Here is one source:-
http://www.softpedia.com/catList/60,0,1,0,1.html
However, I found that with Win Media Player ver 11 there is a drop down box above the play list that invokes a shuffle. And you can keep repeating it until you see the mix you want. Then you start the top file playing and let it work down the list with the normal 'shuffle' turned off.
Seems to work fine that way.
Ran a playlist to our HiFi with my little FM transmitter last night. A great source of entertainment.

If you go to
http://www.moneyam.com/stockwatch/ then you will see this
"You must have Java installed in order to view this page correctly."
Just click on the word 'Java' and it will take you to the Sun Java download page.

Thanks Haystack, why didn't I spot that? - because that's the page I'm wanting to view.

TP,
Have you tried using iTunes for your playlists? If not, you can download it for free from the Apple website.

Hilary,
iTunes. Not properly.
I think I looked at it with my office machine and got a feeling that it also loaded some junk.
Presumably iTunes will still handle MP3 files?

TP,
I can't recall iTunes loading any junk.
And yes it handles MP3 files. You just drag them into your playlist, although they stay in their original location and iTunes merely links to them.

Hilary,
I remember that I lost contact with my CD drive fairly soon after downloading iTunes and some kind souls on this thread helped me deal with an odd entry in the registry.
It was probably a coincidence but it made me think twice about the software.
I'm now coming to terms with what the Media Player can do so I may wait a bit before trying iTunes. Did you opt for it for any particular feature?

TP,
I've got a house full of iPod Nanos and you need iTunes to sync the iPod. That's the main reason that I use it, but I do happen to think that it's very good for organising playlists nonetheless.

The Outlook Express logon box won't go away. All the details are correctly entered but when I click OK the wretched box reappears and so on ad infinitum. I can receive mail but can't send. I've tried re-installing the email account but that doesn't help. The mail account is working fine via BT/Yahoo. I've Googled the problem but nothing seems to come up. Any suggestions from the tech wizards?

hilary,
Thanks for that about iTunes.
I'm getting cleverer with MP now. Just need to find out whether the version 11 can link directly into Napster. As far as I can ascertain V10 did - but not V11.
Not a major problem as the Napster dowload software is fine, but it would be tidier if I could do everything with MMP.

Some of the anti virus systems slow it up. Macafee especially.
