And amberj - I promise I wasn't being sarcastic, I was merely musing on the similarities of our situations..our hole (caused by Mr Grumpy falling through whilst trying to reinforce the floor above to accommodate a walk-in shower...nowhere near the bath bit yet) is also in the ceiling of the kitchen, the completed refurbishment of which I have been eagerly awaiting for, oh, 12 years..the anticipation is now but a mere flicker.

I shouldn't give it too much thought, bush...I still bear the scars of my friend's retriever's loving attentions...so gd, that'd be nice..

Been v. busy buying white goods for new gaff [most actual now silver grey- why's that?]...costa fortune..
Went to see Sweet Revenge and took her some large carrots which she muched down with bunches of clover [ think she's a vegan]..she's looking great..

Oh, thank you, little willie! I'm feeling much better today, indeed almost back to normal. Went down the road to get the FT and a breath of air when there was an enormous thunderclap! I thought my time was up....fair makes the heart pump, a shock like that.....almost had to go back to bed and lie down again. But this time, I brought food back with me, so no more fruit gums and custard creams for supper tonight. Real food tonight: fishcakes.....yum
