How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Indeed Woodie

Bit disappointed i didnt back the biggest hcap on the all blacks - was available above 4.0 and theyve all but covered it at half time. Quite scary for the rest of the world that the all balcks appear to have 2 sides that will beat almost all challengers

Good volume on the paddy power gold cup, excellent trading opportunities.

Very impressive performance front the England front 5, disappointing outside that, especially Dawson

now for the farce that is uncontested scrums

Fundamentalist - 12 Nov 2005 16:09 - 5704 of 10502

Gee England are making hard work of this - just like the All Black reserves lol

Isnt it great - my initial opinion on this match was completely wrong, yet have i have made a nice profit!!!

Has to be said, having the 2 games on side by side, 2 vast differences stand out - the all blacks run into space, england run at the tackler and the speed of ball the all blacks get is so much quicker due to how well they clear out the ruck area

fundy what do you make of gb as favs for tri nats cant make it out

Fundamentalist - 12 Nov 2005 17:49 - 5707 of 10502

Just backed NZ at 2.4

Only concern is that NZ dont need to win just keep the score down whereas GB are desperate however with Stacey Johns in their side id have made it even the two.

also backed Argentina in Scotland match odds and handicap in the Union (on sky 960)

Fundamentalist - 12 Nov 2005 18:01 - 5708 of 10502

Steve,

Sorry I didn't realise you may have taken the dog out this am so went to bed - knackered. Been out since this morning and just got in.

Bak,

Thanks for the thingymajig. I'll try it out.

Scripophilist - 12 Nov 2005 20:49 - 5716 of 10502

Wot no comment on the England victory? That was one hell of a match, the most competitive friendly I think I have ever seen. Really enjoyed that.

If the defence can be firmed up a bit the rest of the field looks ok. Gerrard in the centre with Beckham firing in crosses as well looks awsome. I think Crouchie isn't a great player but could be really useful for causing problems.

Harlosh - 12 Nov 2005 20:50 - 5717 of 10502

Scrip, as part Scot, I declined to comment!

Harlosh - 12 Nov 2005 21:20 - 5718 of 10502
