THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Manuel,

I won't hold the "Netty" against you! 8-)

But congress is looking more like the Tea party everyday.

A little similar to the Kippers and the worn out right wing of the Conners' party.

George's middle class income, rising or is it due to tax reduction on the middle class income range?

=====

Flogging Euro star for a short term benefit, while the country paid for the investment and could be drawing an income from it to reduce Taxation for all.

Biscuit Tin economics.

Profits going to Canada and the pockets of others (outside the country) rather than those who took the risk but still left with having the ultimate risks.

Going the same way as the rest of the silver.

Manuel.

Interesting article about Netanyahu's "speech".

Also, the comments by posters

Some Democrats stayed away, while the leader of Democrats in the House, Nancy Pelosi said: "I was near tears throughout the prime minister's speech - saddened by the insult to the intelligence of the United States as part of the P5 +1 nations ... and saddened by the condescension toward our knowledge of the threat posed by Iran and our broader commitment to preventing nuclear proliferation."

The words of some administration officials are even more sulphurous. One is quoted today as saying the speech contained "literally not one new idea; not one single concrete alternative; all rhetoric, no action."

These words aren't remarkable in themselves, but are when spoken about an Israeli leader. This sort of stuff doesn't normally happen. It does now.

Farage to propose new immigration watchdog and five-year ban on unskilled migrants

Ukip leader to set out his party’s policies on immigration days after David Cameron failed to meet targets

Rowena Mason, political correspondent

Wednesday 4 March 2015 00.01 GMT

Ukip would ban unskilled immigrants from working in Britain for five years and set up a new migration control watchdog to bring down overall numbers, Nigel Farage will say on Wednesday.

In a speech in central London, the Ukip leader will set out his core offering to the electorate on immigration, arguing that no other party can be trusted on the issue.

Farage will be hoping to keep the issue of immigration in the headlines, as David Cameron has been criticised for missing his target of getting net migration below the tens of thousands a year during this parliament.

The most recent figures released last week showed net migration was almost 300,000, allowing Ukip and Labour to pour scorn on Cameron’s pledge to reduce net migration to below 100,000 with “no ifs, no buts”.

i remain appalled that british jewry and their leaders (rabbis) also hold a deafening silence

Manuel,

Every time I look at Gaza and Israel and M.E. I think of :

"Where have all the soldiers gone?
Gone to graveyards every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?"

Strange some of the lyrics of Bob Dylan and Joan Baez mean for me now than they meant in the 60s.

cynic - 04 Mar 2015 10:12 - 57241 of 81564

that's the least of my concerns ..... for once, i am appalled by the humanitarian aspect, the piracy issue coming second

Fred1new - 04 Mar 2015 10:13 - 57242 of 81564

Max,

Is Farage and the Kippers reneging on its immigration policies in face of reality?

Here to-day, gone to-morrow comes to mind.

Sounds like herrings being smoked!

cynic - 04 Mar 2015 10:17 - 57243 of 81564

of course farage is backing off

suddenly he can't just bluster but has to come up with policies and at least a plausible explanation as to how he'll implement same
for sure the interrogators will gun for him, and rightly so
however, farage is a smart chap - even if his acolytes aren't - so it'll be interesting to see what he can get away with to avoid being shown as just as much a charlatan as all the other political leaders

what does a smoking herring sound like?
