THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

in my view, that is a chance well worth taking, and i don't believe your portrait of gloom anyway

Fred1new - 16 Mar 2015 14:42 - 57539 of 81564

Agreed on that!

cynic - 16 Mar 2015 14:43 - 57540 of 81564

HELP!!!!!!!!
:-))

Fred1new - 16 Mar 2015 15:33 - 57541 of 81564

Is Snappy on h.is way out?

What a bunch.

=-=-=-=-=

Now was Ed right or wrong with the SNP?

I think I would have kept everybody guessing!

cynic - 16 Mar 2015 15:42 - 57542 of 81564

yesterday's ST indicated that likud was likely to be booted, so fingers x'ed as far as i am concerned

MaxK - 16 Mar 2015 15:50 - 57543 of 81564

Like or loath, he and his gang pull in the punters!

BBC's Top Gear slot loses 4m viewers after Jeremy Clarkson suspension

Repeat of Red Arrows: Inside the Bubble attracted audience of just 1.3m, compared with more than 5m typically drawn by motoring show

jimmy b - 16 Mar 2015 15:54 - 57544 of 81564

As i said before if they sack him it's game over for that show no one else will be able to replace him also he may have had enough and walk.
And all in the name of bloody political correctness ...

cynic - 16 Mar 2015 15:54 - 57545 of 81564

it would seem that clarkson hit the other chap twice, and as such that has to be instant death
for bbc to do otherwise would completely undermine any employment policy they might pretend to
indeed, if clarkson did hit the producer not once but twice, he is very lucky not to have been charged

jimmy b - 16 Mar 2015 15:58 - 57546 of 81564

I have not seen that ,however the other fellow has not made a complaint .

However it was ok to keep Jimmy Saville on all those years .

MaxK - 16 Mar 2015 15:59 - 57547 of 81564

ITV will be knocking on the door, not to mention sky.

jimmy b - 16 Mar 2015 16:02 - 57548 of 81564

Yes they will but i would imagine he can't take that format with him ,i would think there are restrictions .
Bloody pompous BBC , also now you have to put up with all the do gooders talking about the politically incorrect things he said ..makes me so ANGRY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and iv'e always said the day the BBC (and it's been talked about) loses Wimbledon is the day i stop buying a license .

cynic - 16 Mar 2015 16:05 - 57549 of 81564

it's rather more more than just non-pc ..... it's assault at best and potentially ABH, though there may not be enough hard evidence to stand up in court

jimmy b - 16 Mar 2015 16:10 - 57550 of 81564

Don't be so delicate cynic ,the other fellow is not pressing charges ,clarkson 's not exactly Lennox Lewis is he ? what do you think happens when you tour with a rock band ,their scrapping every night .

And they are all attacking him now for his history of political incorrectness

cynic - 16 Mar 2015 16:15 - 57551 of 81564

sorry, but i don't think beeb has or had any choice

jimmy b - 16 Mar 2015 16:17 - 57552 of 81564

They had a choice with Jimmy Saville for god knows how many years but chose to sweep it under the carpet .

cynic - 16 Mar 2015 16:25 - 57553 of 81564

sorry but not comparable
js "crimes" were not in the public domain 40 years ago, so anything known about his proclivities were kept closely under wraps
whether or not clarkson set up this whole thing and ensured it came to public notice is an interesting question

jimmy b - 16 Mar 2015 16:28 - 57554 of 81564

Do you think no one at the BBC knew about Saville ???

jimmy b - 16 Mar 2015 16:32 - 57555 of 81564

Anyway i'm out of here before the politically correct crew arrive

What did annoy me was yesterdays Mail On Sunday (which i wouldn't buy) had the headline CLARKSON AS BAD AS SAVILLE which however the story read inside was disgusting .

cynic - 16 Mar 2015 16:32 - 57556 of 81564

no; i'm very sure senior management did and it is a racing certainty that it was deliberately kept under wraps for whatever nefarious reasons

as there was no "social media" and the likes of js were seen as being on an untouchable pedestal, no one else saw fit to spill the beans either

jimmy b - 16 Mar 2015 16:48 - 57557 of 81564

Big Mistake by the BBC ,if he goes it's the end of the viewing figures for that show without doubt in my mind .
--------------------------------------------------------------

Insiders say the BBC – which holds the rights to the lucrative Top Gear format – is prepared to continue making the show even if it means getting a new presenter or presenters.
They say other shows, such as Have I Got News For You, survived the departure of a host and there was no reason Top Gear could not do the same.
