THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

yes but fred it will cut the pension bill by billions they will just die
that is the aim we do not want the working class getting pensions
we need the cash for the rich to keep the works down and tip their hat

cynic - 20 Mar 2015 14:41 - 57739 of 81564

just here for a few minutes as now in h'gate to visit son, d-in-l and the beasts

anyway, IG are now running a political book
if i have read this correctly, the betting is still that the tories will hold the most seats (by about 19 if i've read that correctly) and that the odds on EM becoming PM are considerably longer than for DC

obviously that's not gospel and odds change all the time, but perhaps a more accurate reflection of the public's current voting intent than a small poll of perhaps 1,000 people

ExecLine - 20 Mar 2015 15:41 - 57740 of 81564

It's the same on the Betfair Exchange.

Odds for 'Most seats' (as I type):

Tories: 1.44
Labour: 3.25
Lib Dems: 960
Any other: 140

Looks like Clarkson has got the chop !...shame really because he is after all a superb car tester (for bigger cars anyway), entertainer.....but if you clatter somebody and it looks like he has : it could mean a jail sentence ! if the other guy goes to the cops !....anyway....to put it in Harry Enfields words : ut's the buggest saucking un...................theu wauld !..

ExecLine - 21 Mar 2015 00:18 - 57742 of 81564

The BBC can't set the precedence and keep him either. It would be too problematic with their other employees, as and when anything even slightly similar were to happen with their bad behaviour.

Not to worry. JC and his mates will move on and continue to entertain us working for someone else.

And Top Gear? It will evolve, just like the cars themselves.

Fred1new - 21 Mar 2015 08:37 - 57743 of 81564

Exec,

Once Cameron supported him you knew he was a "goner"!

The last straw:

Haystack - 21 Mar 2015 13:02 - 57745 of 81564

Hypocrisy Alert

Labour have been talking of the Conservatives as the party of Hedge Funds.

One of Labour's biggest donors is the manager of a hedge fund. He has attempted to hide his £600,000 gift.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/generalelection/labour-open-to-the-charge-of-hypocrisy-after-failing-to-divulge-hedge-fund-managers-donation-10124387.html

Fred1new - 21 Mar 2015 13:43 - 57746 of 81564

Hays,

Fund managers£600,000 to Labour to help them with their canvassing

Compared with fund manager’s £55,000,000 buying Georgie Boy and Dodgy Dave and the rest of the tribe in order to reduce their future taxes and other dodges.

=-=-==-=-=

Go back into hiding or tory party central office and have glass of schnapps!

cynic - 21 Mar 2015 14:57 - 57747 of 81564

hit a nerve there hays i think
more to the point, it's good to see you bak ...... where have you been hiding?

Haystack - 21 Mar 2015 15:03 - 57748 of 81564

Funny how it is a scandal that Conservatives get money from people involved in hedge funds and it is fine for Labour.

Haystack - 21 Mar 2015 15:04 - 57749 of 81564

I just got bored posting. I was still reading.

dreamcatcher - 21 Mar 2015 15:12 - 57750 of 81564

Haystack, good to see you are well. :-))

I thought he had been taken into care.

Congratulations Ireland on winning the 6 nations tournament !, but what an extraordinary performance from England in the game at Twickenham.....have to say they deserved to win as well and France put 35 points in with some great tries...unlucky England....Wales have done themselves proud as well......If England can come away from that game with an inner determined strength that can re-emerge in the autumn....you never know...on that performance the world cup is not beyond them....sometimes not winning can be a blessing in disguise !....

Fred1new - 21 Mar 2015 19:55 - 57753 of 81564

Both Ireland and England were lucky.

They must have bribed the refs.

8-)

Fascinating rugby.
