FTSE + FTSE 250 - consider trading (FTSE)

cynic - 20 Oct 2007 12:12

rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

cynic - 17 Mar 2011 10:16 - 5798 of 21973

yes i am and obviously i'm blind, but guess dosh and gob were indeed disassociated

splat - brave boy! i looked at IG live prices at about 22:00 yesterday and they indicated a further slump on dow after hours, similarly reflected in ftse cash

Bernard M - 17 Mar 2011 10:36 - 5799 of 21973

Glad to see you are NOW with the programme C. Let's hope the rumour that the number 4 reactor has no water and is leaking, is untrue otherwise we will see yesterday's massive volatile Indices.

cynic - 17 Mar 2011 10:55 - 5800 of 21973

pretty scary isn't it .... that's why i watch carefully and happily bank even modest profits, even if it means (perhaps) buying back at a higher price in due course

PS - when you get to my age, you too may be on medication if you are not already!

Bernard M - 17 Mar 2011 11:20 - 5801 of 21973

Would never take Viagra, my father tells me it causes a big headache.

cynic - 17 Mar 2011 11:56 - 5804 of 21973

Bernard M - 17 Mar 2011 11:57 - 5805 of 21973

Let's hope things hold blue (Not Viagra blue) for the rest of the day.

HARRYCAT - 17 Mar 2011 11:58 - 5806 of 21973

Just for once DOW is looking to open in positive territory.
All we need now is for another japanese reactor to catch fire..........

cynic - 17 Mar 2011 12:01 - 5807 of 21973

cynic - 17 Mar 2011 12:31 - 5810 of 21973

why else would one enjoy public school, especially when linked to a good flogging?

Bernard M - 17 Mar 2011 12:40 - 5811 of 21973

At my public school masterbating was considered normal, but not more than two participants at a time, multiple sword crossing was considered homosexual.

Remember the old saying just becaue you kiss a guy that does not make you gay.

cynic - 17 Mar 2011 12:42 - 5812 of 21973

what if you kiss my arse? :-))
and on that happy note, i shall depart the office for a technical afternoon - aka playing golf

Bernard M - 17 Mar 2011 12:44 - 5813 of 21973

Balerboy - 17 Mar 2011 13:28 - 5814 of 21973

Glad to see you two have kissed and made up..........bitch cynic wait till I se you!!

Bernard M - 17 Mar 2011 13:34 - 5815 of 21973

Mr.C reminds me of a friend I brought home for tea many years ago, I told my old dear mum he was gay, to which she said nothing wrong with being a happy person.

C will remember when it was illegal to be gay and they got jail time.

HARRYCAT - 17 Mar 2011 13:39 - 5816 of 21973

Wasn't that why Oscar Wilde legged it over to The Continent?

Bernard M - 17 Mar 2011 15:18 - 5817 of 21973
