Driver have you looked at vds-the sp is going up nicely and the expert opinion is that the market for it's technology is worth billions. I have been adding in anticipation-look on the other sidefor interesting discussion about a sporting deal with fox causing the excitement.

heres a good find i feel http://offshore247.com/news/article.asp?Id=7213&catname=Field/development

Monterey gas to Windermere

Friday, March 9, 2007

Development of the UK Monterey gas discovery in the Southern North Sea is looking increasingly likely as a tieback to the Windermere platform with output exported to The Netherlands.

Operator Wintershall Noordzee is considering the Windermere tieback option after making the discovery last year and a development plan is likely to be put to field partners this summer.

Partner Black Rock Oil and Gas has said that is the development route being examined by Wintershall after drilling the discovery which spans UK blocks 49/8c and 49/9d discovery last year.

Monterey is about 15 km (9.3 miles) west of the Windermere gas platform and south of the Schooner and Ketch gas fields, in a water depth of 35 M (114 ft).

Monterey is estimated to contain around 165 Bcf of gas although that figure has not been verified by independent analysis.

The Monterey field, originally drilled in 1989, was estimated by Carrizo (based on analysis then provided by the field operator, Wintershall Noordzee) to contain 165 billion cubic feet of gas reserves, although no formal resource or reserve has yet been prepared under any of the accepted standards and this figure has not been independently verified by the company, Black Rock, which has a 15% stake in part-blocks 49/8c and 49/9d, declared today.

The field operator is currently undertaking detailed technical evaluation of the well results and simulation of various development options to put to the Joint Venture Partners during the summer of 2007. Amongst the options being considered is to drill one or more horizontal producers. Typically, such wells will have horizontal sections of 500m (1,640 ft) or more in order to obtain commercial rates and the well may also require hydraulic fracturing. If developed, the field operator is considering piping the gas to the nearby Windermere and Markham Fields and from there to the Netherlands, the companys chairman Tony Baldry informed shareholders.

And still the BLR SP appears not to have moved.

MP when you move into your palatial accommodation in Cornwall, can we all come over for a surf party?

soul traders - 21 Mar 2007 18:04 - 584 of 934

PS well done to everyone who has had a good day. wish it was me!

cynic - 21 Mar 2007 18:40 - 585 of 934

sorry to hear that soul* ..... have just cut my losses on Dow short, but as long everywhere else, was a good hedge

pumben - 21 Mar 2007 21:37 - 586 of 934

SIT is looking positive, could this be another SOLA. SIT has won a number of contracts this year in US. Rumoured to discussing with Walmart, a contract win in Jan was for Jan.

Any thoughts ?

driver - 21 Mar 2007 21:50 - 587 of 934

pumben -
I like the look of SIT its heading in the right direction for its all time high of 360p I did try and buy a month ago but Barclays said I had to sign a form they would have to send me so I didnt bovver.

pumben - 21 Mar 2007 21:55 - 588 of 934

Yes I did the same, watched it at 20 & hestiated then at 69 hesitated but after they won the latest contract, I delved in with a small punt at 114. If it can some of Walmarts retail buildings then the could certainly get back to 360. However, it wont be in straight line I'm sure !

hewittalan6 - 22 Mar 2007 07:46 - 589 of 934

Psst.
The old ITR, now PMG. Very lightly traded stock. In fact other than the directors, I think I might be the only shareholder. This merchant bank gave its final results yesterday. It has sold a lot of its deadwood interests and has now returned to profit.
I haven't started a thread on it, but the old ITR thread gives an idea of how little interest there is. At the moment. 7p currently. Might be worth a bit more by interims if it starts to show rising profits. Like all lightly traded stocks, movement on news would be larger than normal, both up and down, so it makes it an interesting punt.

POG ..... buy, buy, buy! .... see thread

Gaming stocks ... unless i have misread, these must surely be in for a hammering following the budget

hewittalan6 - 22 Mar 2007 08:08 - 591 of 934

Correction on PMG. Interims, not finals. Loss at 19000, not quite break even. assets read as 18.2million. Something over 360 million shares in circulation equates to a NAV of about 5p per share, even after last years write down.
I think its a reasonably good medium term bet, but am interested in others thoughts.

Take a look at MEDSEA ESTATES (MEA) 3m profit M/Cap only 11m 50p looks on the cards.

soul traders - 22 Mar 2007 15:16 - 593 of 934

current Pe is 7.9

soul traders - 22 Mar 2007 15:32 - 594 of 934

Driver, I don't know what happened in the last couple of minutes, but the MEA SP just fell off sharply and I got in for 16.5p instead of an anticipated 20.5p!

thanks for the tip - agree 50p could happen over 12 mths.

soul traders - 22 Mar 2007 15:33 - 595 of 934

narrower spread is good too.

soul traders - 22 Mar 2007 15:34 - 596 of 934

Still dropping: MEA Bid: 14p Offer: 16p Change: 1.5

However, the spread when I first looked was 17/21, so now looks to be cheap and priced in favour of buyers!

EDIT: PE now 6!!

hewittalan6 - 22 Mar 2007 17:52 - 597 of 934

BTW Guys,
PMG up today (a little) but all trades were either broker to broker or protected.

All gone very quiet here-are you awake?? CFE, GNG and VIY are doing well for me so far. Exciting news from viy today I'm expecting this to be a multi bagger or to be taken over by cisco. gng is also a likely muti bagger imo. another contract announcement today and one of the largest tech companies in china already.
Soul/driver no surf parties I'm afraid this year--- I'll have to wait for my fortune to arrive--the old fashioned house in need of renovation has attracted 3 bidders and the price has so far risen from 1250000 to 1750000---lose a few noughts and I'd be in with a chance!!

driver - 28 Mar 2007 16:21 - 599 of 934

MP
Have been watching JSP was 72% down today I did think of going in at 15p but left it, could go tits up.
