Cyril, to answer your question about enthusiasm, those who have been fortunate enough to see it in action and the benefits it yields are enthusiastic. Alas, no longer anything to do with meat packaging I have not seen it myself but in a small world I have contacts who have.
I am not concerned if the sp re-traces back to placement price, nothing will have changed with SEO other than the fact that they have raised 9m to fund their further expansion into the world of packaging. That says it all.
This would not have been possible last year but the management have turned this company around and now have commercial opportunties in more than one area to significantly change packaging. Lower Costs/Reduced Energy/Reduced waste/Recyclable/Bio-degradable. 5 very important boxes ticked and covered by Stanelco. If these were 5 oil exploration areas or gold mines folk would be very excited, not bashing (or maybe they would!!!!), but what makes it better IMO is that these products are already here and it just needs the management of SEO to commercialise them properly and they will become a very profitable company in the next 2-5years. Of course there are risks, but IMO potential out-weighs the risks.

Andy thank you for your answer, i'm also very positive towards SEO and its
products. I asked the question due to reading from a another board of a
graduate (in packageing )who was raving about tray lidding and was convinced, it
was the way forward.

sequestor: felt, like sd, you were a bit quick on the draw with nealo. His statement was that SEO was "one of my major holdings". That, to me, means that there are other major holdings; my conclusion is that he is not therefore overweight in SEO in relation to his total investments (as I am, but at much lower levels - lol!). Suspect it was the 500K which you felt was too much. How many investors are there in SEO? Lets say 5000. Then 1000 of these hold 600 mill shares between them. an average of 600K shares or 125K (80/20 rule). nealo may not even be in the top 100 of holders. The significance of an investment relates to his total holding and how important it is to him. If nealo says he is not an expert then it is not a matter of life and death whether the share is successful.
I also didn't understand why you objected to PM's post re the acquisition of Biotech. I felt he added to my understanding of the reason for the acquisition; filled out the explanation of 'turnkey'.
Now as for sd! 'Cometh the chip' is allied to 'cometh the old block' which in turn relates to 'cometh the greedy hound, stealing the chips out of the pan'. Is nothing sacrosanct?
There appears to be a bit of nervousness about the SEO sp tomorrow. I would expect an early mark-down by the MMs in case there is a rush to cash in the new shares (given no RNS). But my view is that KMC Peel Hunt are a mature outfit who will not have placed the shares with investors who are going to rush to make a quick profit; they would prefer an orderly market for the benefit of those taking them as an investment. I think we will see sideways trading until the final trial is complete and a US seal is announced; that I see as the TA view of the chart; also on aany significant dip the page is filled with blue in minutes as those waiting to top up take advantage.

Eric Hi,
Don't forget the mention by EVO, that within a few weeks, we will also see a number of Patent Applications. I also think that once the deal is done, Stanelco will show a few aces, probably as Business Wire press releases, tying Starpol 2000 with Greenseal, and maybe ASDA taking Starpol 2000, and I think that will happen this week, so I don't see sideways trading for this week.
EVO
Within a few weeks we understand Biotec will apply for a range of patents on new products. Until then investors will be largely left in the dark on the potential of this acquisition. But the interlinking with Greenseal should soon become clear.
Using radio frequency its products remain biodegradable, whereas after conventional heat sealing they are cooked solid and will not decay. Stanelco will be able to licence a complete sealing and packaging solution. Being able to tailor-design products for RF should give it an edge over any other company attempting to get round its Greenseal patents.
Cheers,
PM

Hi Paul: Thanks. I saw that Evo report and the comments ring true. SEO are certainly not letting any grass grow under their feet. There was criticism from the usual quarter at the speed of the deal. Due diligence was done and, if you focus on the task and know what you are looking for, it can be completed quickly. SEO had already gone through the process a year earlier anyway. Speed was of the essence and I suspect they didn't even try to set the deal up in shares, having confidence in KBC Peel Hunt's ability to raise the necessary funds. The other point I noted was the cost of 180 per kilo (I think I've got it right) - my reading was that there confidence in increased volume would enable them to quote a competitive price against other solutions which Biotech might not have been abe to, or wanted to, do. Yes, that could be a good RNS to keep things ticking along!

Bhunt Hi,
What do you mean 'no news' :))))
Anyone who has visited my website, and read the page on Capsules, will know that Stanelco are working with Carlco on laser welded and injection moulded STARCH BASED CAPSULES.
Things are going well according to today's Carlco Final Results, and with the aquisition of Biotec, things could start moving much quicker, remember this bit from the Biotec RNS ?
"Biotec is one of the world's leading exponents of starch technology and has a considerable intellectual property portfolio, including many patents, extending to uses in pharmaceutical and edible applications. It also has ranges of products that are ready for commercialisation within the food and beverage industries."
Now Carlco say this today ....
The development of water soluble capsules for drug delivery is ongoing with our partner, Stanelco plc. We are concentrating on increasing the starch content of the capsules to allow us both to reduce cost and, more importantly, to facilitate the process of regulatory approval. We are in the process of presenting the capsule technology to a number of drug development companies.
Biotec = cheaper starch for this agreement.
Bye bye bprg, Stanelco get Starch capsules first, and without the need for RF !
Cheers,

Well there we go, I said a drop to the bottom of the spread, and that is where we are now, you could sell at 8am for 23.75, now you can buy for 23.75 !
Might go a tad lower, just to get some traders in.
To coin a phrase .... not worried !
