Israeli Gaza conflict?????? (GAZA)

Fred1new - 06 Jan 2009 19:21

Will this increase or decrease the likelihood of terrorist actions in America, Europe and the rest of the world?

If you were a member of a family murdered in this conflict, would you be seeking revenge?

Should Tzipi Livni and Ehud Olmert, be tried for war crimes if or when this conflict comes to an end?

What will the price of oil be in 4 weeks time?

Iran has to buy everything in black market - indirect from the countries who are against sanctioning Iran.

Important point is that their educational institutions were established by Britain and USA. They are very good and still receive very good scholarships for their students from Stanford, MIT etc.... If you do not believe me watch this clip.

TANKER - 05 Mar 2012 13:05 - 5838 of 6906

hay WHY is it that MUSLIM leaders do NOT want freedom for its people
I DO NO THAT YOU WILL NEVER ANSWER THE QUESTION AS IT HURTS

ahoj - 05 Mar 2012 13:11 - 5839 of 6906

Answer is clear - Muslims who live freely don't like islamic country anymore!!!
But, we can not and should not give them freedom by force - diplomacy works faster and much cheaper...

Fred1new - 05 Mar 2012 13:40 - 5840 of 6906

TAnk,

How would you like the "Islamic" states to interfere in Syria?

What would be the cost in lives

More or less than at present?

Invading Iraq was a catastrophe.

The present death rate there now, would I assume, to be far higher than under Sadam.

It destabilised surrounding states and cause misery and chaos.

Invasion of Afghanistan by USA has been and is likely to fail with the colossal loss of life and destabilisation of surrounding countries.

Iran is called a war monger and yet it is the West USA, BRITAIN. who are invading other countries like "country" boys.

It ain't the religion. The problem is those who abuse the religions.

Haystack - 05 Mar 2012 13:54 - 5841 of 6906

Religion is a factor. Many of the Islamic countries such as Pakistan have a population that is poor and poorly educated. The influence of reliigion is those countries is similar to the way it operated in say Europe a few hundred years ago. We used to burn and imprison heretics and followers of a different religion. Just look at the Reformation and the Sanish Inquisition. In fact it was a lot worse than current Islamic probems. We have a long wait until education improves and many of these societies develop.

ahoj - 05 Mar 2012 13:55 - 5842 of 6906

well said Fred. "The problem is those who abuse the religions."

That's true in almost all religion based countries Iran, Syria, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and probably even in more western countries...

They misuse "religion based excuses" to run the country, and fight against others ... and some of them have fallen into the wrong believes which were originally initiated by themselves... That's why Islam in Saudi Arabia is different form Pakistan, Iran, Malaysia etc. The same is the case for Christianity and probably Jews.

As I always said, Internet is the solution for all these people, not war or any kinds of confrontation. Educating people takes time, so it has to happen gradually. The strategy should be slightly different..... off course.

cynic - 05 Mar 2012 14:16 - 5843 of 6906

thought you might support the inquisition; after all, in portugal especially the jews were a favourite target

TANKER - 05 Mar 2012 14:16 - 5844 of 6906

they do not like there people having rights that is what it is albout

TANKER - 05 Mar 2012 14:17 - 5845 of 6906

answer . because if they have freedom then the leaders are finished

Fred1new - 05 Mar 2012 14:28 - 5846 of 6906

Cynic,

"thought you might support the inquisition; after all, in portugal especially the jews were a favourite target"

Why were they the favourite target?

Is the present Israeli state trying to emulate that period again and martyr themselves?

Is it in the DNA?

If you are interested in the persecution in Portugal, as a man who wanders, visit Tomar. Beautiful small town.

You can see the evidence of past cultural clashes.
=================

Tinker,

Can't see much freedom in Iraq, Egypt, Libya.

I think the countries will move to their own type of democracies.

But the momentum for that will be due to the raising of economic standards, not outside boyscout patrols invading those countries with their notions of "democracy".

Israeli Apartheid Week: Call it as it is

Fahel,

Very poignant.
------------------

The recent meeting of Obama and the Jewish lobby in recently showed the hypocrisy of Israeli position.

Obama chose his words carefully in his election period, but I doubt that he will sanction the use of USA military over Iran.

But Neties threats does little to resolve the ME problems and Israel leaders are being seen more and more as bully boys, by the majority of the world who are not in debt to them in some form or other.

Many of Israel's present leaders were terrorists and criminals and are unable to put that period of thuggery behind them.

Sad.

Haystack - 13 Mar 2012 20:03 - 5851 of 6906

They are firing rockets at an occupying country. It is the same as when the French resistance fought and sabotaged the Germans in WWII.

TANKER - 14 Mar 2012 08:07 - 5852 of 6906

hay . you are insane . answer this question why do they like begging and yes i have been there have you. they send there children out at night to beg why do they elect a terrorist gov .

Haystack - 14 Mar 2012 12:50 - 5853 of 6906

I think you will find that most people there are normal decent people. The people of Gaza elected Hamas because the previous government Fatah was collaborating with Israel with its leaders profiting by taking money from Israel and stealing funds intended for Gaza. Fatah continues to do this in the West Bank. It is interesting to see that the head of security for Fatah joined as a pauper and now owns villas and hotels in other countries. One of the problems that Israel and the US have is that Hamas is not corrupt and consequently can not be influenced easily. "When asked by the media for his thoughts on the Hamas triumph in the Palestinian parliamentary elections, former President Jimmy Carter replied that while they have a terrorist past, at least they're not corrupt."

This from the Israeli Jerusalem Post
http://www.jpost.com/MiddleEast/Article.aspx?id=167194

January 2010

"Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has surrounded himself with many of the corrupt officials who used to work for his predecessor, Yasser Arafat, and that’s why Hamas will one day take control of the West Bank, Fahmi Shabaneh, who was appointed by Abbas four years ago to root out corruption in the Palestinian Authority, said on Thursday"
