THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

then stop your incessant vituperative posts which, in 97% of the time, are totally unfounded and unwarranted

This may apply to Tinker.

But might remind some of to the tory mantra "Of We are all in it together":

Why mentally ill people are an easy target for the Tories

Sorry Max and Manuel there are some long words, which even Haze won't understand!

All the Poles I have had dealings with are hard working and decent. Many have formed their own mini businesses and are now employing Brits. They got off their asses and went out to make a better life for themselves. Pity others that call themselves indigenous can't do the same.

TANKER - 13 Apr 2015 14:03 - 58528 of 81564

Haystack - 13 Apr 2015 14:04 - 58529 of 81564

Very nice people, the Poles. Usually better educated than most of the UK.

Certainly they have a better grasp of English than Mr T here.

Tanks is correct tho...the british taxpayer is being taken for a ride

The Nigerian whose five babies on the NHS cost us £200,000 is married to a tycoon

By Nick Mcdermott for MailOnline
Updated: 00:02, 9 July 2011

The Nigerian woman who travelled to Britain to give birth to quins at the taxpayer’s expense is married to a wealthy businessman.

Bimbo Ayelabola, 33, had two boys and three girls in April by caesarean section and remained in hospital for almost two weeks, costing the NHS up to £200,000.

Her visitor’s visa has expired and she is now fighting to remain in this country, claiming a return to her home city of Lagos would leave her homeless and without a ‘support network’ to help her raise her five children

MrT - please get back onto your usual dosage of prozac or valium .... and stay off the bottle which you seem to have been hitting rather too hard today

Max - a valid complaint but nothing to do with immigrants other than very peripherally

I like the Polish i spent a lot of time in Warsaw in the 1990's . On Saturday i was talking to 3 Czech's and a Romanian who were working here all nice polite young people.

However we are now overrun by them ,we can't take 300 000 of them per year.

And if this version of the European Union works tell me how many Brits you know who are living out in these former communist countries ?

I don't expect an answer because you don't know any ..

TANKER - 13 Apr 2015 15:15 - 58537 of 81564

well cynic will never go back home that tells you what he thinks of Poland
he thinks its a shit hole

Fred1new - 13 Apr 2015 15:33 - 58538 of 81564

My daughter until recently and another daughter's friend and family.

Was a time when some were going to Poland to have dental work done, because it was cheaper and they thought as good as obtainable in the UK.

cynic - 13 Apr 2015 15:55 - 58539 of 81564

as both sets of grandparents arrived in this country at the turn of 20th century and my parents were born in england and so was i ......

and as i've never been to poland at any point in my life, i have no idea what it is like and nor is it remotely relevant

Haystack - 13 Apr 2015 17:27 - 58540 of 81564

I would imagine that Tanker is not ethnically UK either as most of us aren't if you go back far enough.

Fred1new - 13 Apr 2015 17:41 - 58541 of 81564

Are you questioning my parentage?

Out this afternoon

http://news.sky.com/story/1464139/conservatives-surge-ahead-in-new-election-poll

The Conservatives have surged ahead in a new election poll that puts the party on 39%, six points ahead of Labour on 33%.

The ICM poll, published by The Guardian, has the Liberal Democrats unchanged on 8%, UKIP down two points on 7% and the Greens up three points on 7%.

The Conservatives were up 3% in the poll and Labour down 2%.

Fred1new - 13 Apr 2015 18:17 - 58543 of 81564

Haze!

Put a bet on it!

Haystack - 13 Apr 2015 18:39 - 58544 of 81564

It is interesting looking ahead to another election at some point. Labour are in serious trouble regarding ever getting an overall majority. If the SNP vote holds up long term, it is going to become very difficult for Labour to get elected by themselves. At present, the Conservatives are unlikely to get an overall majority and the odds are about 5 to 1 against. That rises to 25 to 1 against for Labour.
