Desire Petroleum are drilling in Falklands (DES)

free hit countersDesire Petroleum

<>Desire Petroleum plc (Desire) is a UK company listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) dedicated to exploring for oil and gas in the North Falkland Basin.

Desire has recently completed a 6 well exploration programme. The Liz well encountered dry gas and gas condensate at 2 separate levels while other wells recorded shows.
Together with the Rockhopper Exploration Sea Lion oil discovery in the licence to the north, these wells have provided significant encouragement for the potential of the North Falkland Basin. The oil at Sea Lion is of particular interest as this has demonstrated that oil is trapped in potentially significant quantities in a fan sandstone on the east flank of the basin. It is believed that over 50% of this east flank play fairway is on Desire operated acreage.

Desire has now completed new 3D seismic acquisition which provides coverage over the east flank play, Ann, Pam and Helen prospects. The results from fast-track processing of priority areas are provided in the 2011 CPR. A farm-out to Rockhopper has been announced. The revised equities are shown on the licence map (subject to regulatory approval and completion of the farm-in well).

gibby, DES could be hit by the triple whammy if they fail.

They will get a big discount applied as they have no rig anymore, they will get a big discount applied as they got another duster and they will get another discount as they will be looking at raising funds before drilling again IMO.

Anyone holding this share waiting for Jacinta results is either very very brave, or very stupid.

I will buy in if they confirm an oil strike (not gas) at Jacinta (after wireline logging), but that is the only time I would buy.

gibby, no chance of that, thats pushing it a bit tooooooo far.

One thing the UK government does do well is to ensure they have adequate support for future needs. An agreement was signed earlier this year that we can utilise French ACC's, and of course at any time we want to pay we can, in effect, "hire" US ones.

You also seem to underestimate what Christina and her family want, and all they want is cash - they have no desires on the Malvina's, thats just a tool for the manipulation of the masses through hysteria (sort of like the Labour party and using students on the streets of London).

markymar - 15 Dec 2010 11:29 - 5867 of 6492

Chav thanks for update on OG, been shooting haggis up in Highlands and just slipped clogs on to clear the water from down the mine. Spikes still needed in Edinburgh.

chav - 15 Dec 2010 11:37 - 5868 of 6492

Think you may be needing the spikes around here over the next few days Marky!

avsec - 15 Dec 2010 12:12 - 5869 of 6492

Never mind spikes, I'm hoping to wear flip flops in Syria on Monday so fingers crossed the flights keep going to schedule as I need to be back for Chrimbo

gibby - 15 Dec 2010 13:37 - 5870 of 6492

chpas thanks for og update
at the moment they are struggling supply chain wise
sam holding together gl

chav - 15 Dec 2010 13:52 - 5871 of 6492

They are having no problems with their supply chain because they don't rely on South America for anything!!! Everything is shipped from the UK...reliability is everything and South Americans have, justly, got a reputation for being completely unreliable

gibby - 15 Dec 2010 13:56 - 5872 of 6492

chav that is the problem
evrything from the uk V local services make the oppo cost more
bw

chav - 15 Dec 2010 14:01 - 5873 of 6492

It's not a problem....Falklands has relied on it's shipping link with the UK ever since a Brit discovered them!!!...that's pre Argentina being called Argentina by the way.

gibby - 15 Dec 2010 14:14 - 5874 of 6492

chav mate
i know the argies i know a lot of things
des is in the nackers yard - uk plc is skint
the og is in sam oceans
do you not know that south am nations the cheapest supply route to them now dont want to deal
mate it is on hold on when it happens
i nearly bought back today as des looks a bargain
no way needs to be less
remember where the fi exp are
then look at uk defences
we are in trouble and my source is if argies not so skint already would be on its way now
if uk could not lean on us for help des would be sub 10p already imo
