Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Fred1new - 19 Nov 2016 12:54 - 5880 of 12628

If a shepherd thinks he sees a flock of sheep going over a cliff I would think he has a moral duty to try to stop them.

Edited, as I didn't understand the first posting.

8-)

cynic - 19 Nov 2016 16:50 - 5881 of 12628

certainly bleating at them won't do any good

Dil - 20 Nov 2016 10:52 - 5882 of 12628

And what fecking cliff are you on about Fred ?

The one where we have to have an emergency budget if we vote out ?
The one where foreign companies like Nissan and Google pull out of UK if we vote out ?
The one where the stock market tanks if we pull out ?
The one where unemployment accelerates as soon as we pull out ?
Etc , etc.

Those sheep are off to pastures new after a democratic vote and don't need a fecking shepherd sticking their nose in.

Fred1new - 20 Nov 2016 11:01 - 5883 of 12628

Take your blinkers off and look ahead and then on both sides.

Dil - 20 Nov 2016 11:24 - 5884 of 12628

Did that before I voted Fred as did millions of others. Sooner we press the button the better.

EU is a far worse place to be in rather than out of for the UK. It's the EU who are bleating Fred not the UK.

If they had offered Cammy a half decent deal then Brexit may have been avoided but they fobbed him off.

I hope France follow us out too then the whole un democratic union will really have to give itself a good shake up if it wishes to survive.

In two years time there might not be anyone left to negotiate a single market deal with.

Dil - 20 Nov 2016 11:27 - 5885 of 12628

And what is all the bad news you keep going on about Fred ?

Where and what is it ?

Dailos - 20 Nov 2016 11:46 - 5886 of 12628

Have you been watching KWS? Mr Dil?

grannyboy - 20 Nov 2016 15:40 - 5888 of 12628

IF only they'd except there were other religions, and that they need to be more
tollerant towards those who believe in other gods, but don't hold your breath..

Dil.

Have a read of this.

Sums some of my thoughts up.

"CBI to make plea to Theresa May for a ‘smooth Brexit’"

https://www.theguardian.com/business/2016/nov/20/cbi-brexit-lengthy-transition-period

This sums up some of my sentiment:

20/11/2016: NEWS: ' WE WERE TOUGH ON THE BRITISH WHEN ...
www.globalheadlines.uk/...

http://www.globalheadlines.uk/news/16440966/20-11-2016--NEWS--%E2%80%98-WE-WERE-TOUGH-ON-THE-BRITISH-WHEN-YOU-CAME-IN--WE%E2%80%99LL-BE-TOUGH-ON-YOU-WHEN-YOU-LEAVE%E2%80%99-WHY-EUROPE-WILL-DRIVE-A-HARD-BREXIT.html

I have difficulty in getting the address.

--==-=

But find the today's Observer one of the most balanced, interesting and heavy going for a long time.

But perhaps I am getting slower.

Martini - 20 Nov 2016 18:30 - 5890 of 12628

Dil dear boy whilst we may disagree on sport and shares when it comes to Brexit we are as one.

The only sheep involved in this were those who blindly followed the advice of the majority of politicians, economists, business leaders, luvies and pundits and said we must stay or the world would end. O and to add insult to injury they now categories those who voted out as thick, uneducated, old and racist.

These same people lead us into the banking crisis, a record national debt and a nation which has lost site of its identity and values. Shame on them and their acolytes from which ever end of the political spectrum.

I still believe that the UK can make its way in the world unfettered from the dead hand of the EU which as you say is doomed and good riddance.

Fred1new - 20 Nov 2016 20:54 - 5891 of 12628

Are you sure the "leaders" aren't the same leaders who are now attempting to lead some by the noses out of the EU?

The UK will survive either in or out of the EU, it is the cost of leaving the EU which I dislike.

Artificial or falsely based "pride" can be expensive.

Looking around, at the moment we seem to be in the most unstable period in Europe, Russia, and ME since the late 20s and 30s.

I do not want fascism to be back in power or control.

MaxK - 20 Nov 2016 21:15 - 5892 of 12628

I don't think you understand the meaning of the word "fascism" Fred.

Fred1new - 20 Nov 2016 22:41 - 5893 of 12628

Max,

That was what was said by Mosley, Mussolini, Hitler, and quite a few others.

Also, the led to the naivety of appeasement of that period.

Buy a copy of today's Observer and have a look at their articles on Europe and America.

You don't have to believe what is written, but it may start you thinking about the possible consequences of the present political activities and their reasoning.

An interesting edition.

"CBI to make plea to Therasa May for a 'smooth Brexit'"

They need to realise that there WILL be a hard Brexit, the UK will leave the
single market and pull out of the customs union..

There is no two ways about it, its all a matter of getting as best a deal between
the UK and the EU...

jimmy b - 21 Nov 2016 08:26 - 5896 of 12628

Looks like the questions discussed on here over the weekend got too much for Fred so he's back to posting cartoons.

Fred1new - 21 Nov 2016 10:01 - 5897 of 12628

Dumbo is awake.

Dil - 21 Nov 2016 11:03 - 5898 of 12628

Fred , the CBI can plea as much as it wants to but I believe total freedom of movement will not be up for negotiation.

It will then be up to the EU as to what type of deal we are offered.

Those tariffs and costs mentioned in the Guardian report work both ways so EU will be bloody stupid not to make some kind of deal with us but then again the EU makes many bloody stupid decisions.

Dil - 21 Nov 2016 11:05 - 5899 of 12628

Hi Dailos

Martini , I am always 100% in agreement with you about rugby. Not my fault you keep mixing the names Wales and England up when you post. Seek help :-)
