THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

cynic - 24 Apr 2015 08:10 - 59069 of 81564

how would you classify labour then? ..... newcastle brown which makes one fart loudly and badly?

Fred1new - 24 Apr 2015 08:11 - 59070 of 81564

I see Cameron has brought back a brilliant idea from Brussels to placate the Faragists and appease tory consciences.

What a leader and statesman!

Strut, strut, strut!

Stan - 24 Apr 2015 08:32 - 59071 of 81564

Alf, if you want comment about Labour I should ask H/S as he seems infatuated with them these days.

What the hell is this nonsense about helping the boat migrants ?....That's the last thing that we need to do....stopping them in their tracks is what's needed and turn them around so that they head back where they've come from....preventing them from boarding small fishing boats ....helping them ?...yes if they are sinking but the problem has to be tackled at source....

Ya effin nuts .

VICTIM - 24 Apr 2015 09:55 - 59077 of 81564

Fred why do you Gloss over everything with your fancy words . You disappoint me , you're only like every one else, you just hate people or situations if they don't agree with you .

cynic - 24 Apr 2015 10:04 - 59078 of 81564

because he's a cantankerous old git who is way, way past his sell-by date, and still imagines himself lives in the golden era of keir hardie, jimmy reid and his great modern-day hero arthur scargill

Haystack - 24 Apr 2015 10:19 - 59079 of 81564

Don't sugar coat it!

Fred1new - 24 Apr 2015 10:22 - 59080 of 81564

Victim,

Tell me which words you referring to?

I will try and explain them to you!

Hate is usually a waste of energy and prefer a feeling of sadness when recognising faults in others.

As can be seen when dealing with Manuel, who always seems waiting around for a helpful tip!

VICTIM - 24 Apr 2015 10:35 - 59081 of 81564

Just in general really , you tend to poo poo stuff as merely inconsequential unless you actually state it . I haven't a degree in English , maybe it's my problem .

Pompous old wind bag

cynic - 24 Apr 2015 11:48 - 59083 of 81564

aldo - may i commend to you PGW's golf stories wherein you will find "the oldest member" ...... he is much more benign of nature than our resident red, but his fellow members positively groan when they find themselves ensnared by his verbose ramblings

aldwickk - 24 Apr 2015 12:02 - 59084 of 81564

David Dimbleby should be replaced on QT , his just another BBC lefty, last night he tried to put words into the mouth of the UKIP man when all he was doing was agreeing with most of the other pannelist , and that wasn't what Dimbly wanted

VICTIM - 24 Apr 2015 12:09 - 59085 of 81564

Yes I remember Dimbleby in the Farage v Glegg debate . He kept forgetting Farage's name but it was always Nick this Nick that . Since then no respect at all.

Fred1new - 24 Apr 2015 12:42 - 59086 of 81564

Manuel,

When I was about 8-9 year old I read the poem Abou Ben Adhem (May his tribes increased). (Leigh Hunt.)

For some reason, it spite of being dyslexic it stuck in my memory when its simplicity was explained to me by my father.

Strangely, I think, although not always adhering to its principle precept I have been influenced by it.

Probably you are too long in the tooth now, but if you don’t know the poem read it.

You may not realise you it, but change may benefit you.

Also, I was taught that sometimes it is useful to encourage some back onto the best pathway when they seem lost.

Fred1new - 24 Apr 2015 12:51 - 59087 of 81564

Victim,

For many, one has to earn respect.

I find it difficult to put into one sentence Farage, Cameron, Osborne etc. and the word "respect".

The former group seem antipathetic the meaning of the word.
