The 1899 and 18866 services have been offering cheap calls for a couple of years. That is not a loss leader. What does it matter anyway as far as the consumer is concerned anyway? It has saved me huge amounts. It has not acted as a loss leader for me as I only use the cheapest rates that they provide.

Your argument does not make sense. I know of several businesses that use the 0.5p rates to the US. A couple of well known posters with companies post on the Traders BB here about how much money they save using 18866 and 1899. You try telling them that the cheap rates are a loss leader.

This is the same with all, a catch somewhere! I researched all these in the past and they all something that leaves them behind CCR.

Parthian, Mobile to Mobile suffers the same probs throughout the industry as each service provider adds their bit on to the 10p.

There are a few exceptions and from what I have learned recently, mobile operators are soon to be kicked into touch.

You need to ring Envesta to find out which operators charge what because they all have different charges.

There is no catch with 1899 and 18866 as there are no extra charges. When I call UK landlines it says "this is free phone call" or "0p per minute". I just oay the connection charge and I can stay on all day for free.

An interseting comment on Bloomberg last night, I only caught the end of it, but mobile call charges in India have been radically cut and this has increased the amount of subscribers recently by 1.7 million or so, which will certainly benefit CCR as they must be the most pro-active company in marketing at the moment. The right place at the right time can make one big difference to a company's success!!!

advans, you're keen on this one I can tell, but the market is an extremely competitive one. The service may be OK but it certainly isn't the best thing since sliced bread and there are plenty of others like it if not better. Unlikely to be a moneyspinner therefore.

The 1899 service also has a system where you can take advantage of their low international calling rates when using your mobile.

As I am filtered by you, what makes you think my posts are directed to you? A lapse in logic somewhere I think. I am posting responses to your posts, but they are directed at the thread and not you. And you are wrong (you are sounding suspiciously like Haystack too!), CCR is NOT just like all the rest, it's product has a few very diverse angles to it which are being used for purposes nothing to do with international calls. I fear you will have to join the queue to understand exactly what!

All will soon be revealed. Many of the dealers signed up are fully aware of what CCR are achieveing and I personally know the fulll potential because I have sold it to an organisation who will never call abroad. They have a totally different use for the 'instant non-geo numbers'!

Didnt have a sore head this morning, was unexpected. Even went shopping and didnt get irratable with any Germans. Got my pension sorted at last, even got a refund from the tax man. I must agree with Kayak. This maket is incredibly crowded. Even AOL are offering their subscribers cheap phone call deals. I think CCR is going to fall on its face and get withdrawn after a year or so after making losses. Until then it could easily be a drag on EVS. Even EVS did expect it to make money for 18 months and t only started recently. That could mean depressed profits for EVS for another year at least.
