All looks good from the details released so far,would have expected more in the share price.Institutions must be looking at pvr very closely now with their diverse portfolio and production buying.

During 2007, Providence Resources acquired a majority stake in the Singleton oilfield, substantially increasing its daily production. Post year-end, the group agreed to acquire a portfolio of Gulf of Mexico assets from Triangle, producing a net 1,300 barrels of oil per day (boepd), for $67.5m. This trebles production to some 2,000boepd.



And exploration work continues apace. The Hook Head oil discovery in the Celtic Sea last October represents a significant oil find, where drilling on two wells will commence this summer. In early 2008, Providence successfully drilled a well at Galveston in the Gulf of Mexico. With drilling results better than expected, the project partners are fast-tracking this development and they might install a purpose built production platform to allow increased rates. Drilling of the AJE prospect offshore of Nigeria also substantially exceeded pre-drill expectations.

Providence is also looking to advance its four exploration assets off the west coast of Ireland, including at Drombeg, where the group, with its partners, was recently awarded 13 new blocks. The group bolstered funding to develop its portfolio through a 25.8m (20.5m) placing and a $250m (128m) revolving credit facility with Macquarie Bank.
