THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

cynic - You may say that, I couldn't possibly comment!

I don't think I would swap Nicola for the tory pin up Cruella or the ukip leading lady.

You should be in the house of commons.

By the look of the polls....conservatives just starting to push ahead.....but it looks like DC will have to be very nice to NC and a few others again...(but not too nice).....

Fred1new - 29 Apr 2015 09:59 - 59316 of 81564

Cameron and the tories are propagating “lies” and false promises, which they have no intention of keeping, or couldn’t keep, even if they wished to.

They are still living in hope of forming a “coalition” with the “kippers” and some Lib/Dems to give them a majority with which to form a government.

Hoping, that they can then dump the "lies" and false “policies” blaming their "partners" for their own duplicity.

The problem is, that if Clegg, Danny Boy, David Laws and perhaps a few more may suck up to the tories, I don’t think the majority of L/D MPs would do so, and the general membership would revolt.

The Kippers would lead to a split of the tory parliamentary party leading to an early removal of Cameron and resulting anarchy would be interesting to watch.

Cameron is on to a no winner and he is showing it.

Manuel,

I know you are impoverished, but have you tried this, years crop of Sorrel.

If not, try Tomato, Sorrel soup with Crème Fraîche.

Very nice.

Ps.

Just watched Wavy Dave preaching to your kinsmen your party's orchestrated party faithful.

He looks blown and I do like his masterful use of his index finger.

cynic - 29 Apr 2015 10:40 - 59318 of 81564

confess that i'm not a great lover of sorrel as i find it's flavour rather too aggressive
certainly can't buy in the super, and use so little that i do not bother to grow

however, a discreet amount of lovage gives good flavour too, but again do not usre too much, and preferably small young leaves too
i haven't tried borage, but that too is a possibility

Indonesia executions .all countries should follow them hang the bastards

cynic - 29 Apr 2015 10:49 - 59320 of 81564

they shot them actually, but still

anyway, though i would not like to see the return of capital punishment in uk, i have no sympathy at all with those who so blatantly traffic in drugs in indonesia and other countries
the penalty for so doing is not only well known but set out loud and clear at point of entry

Fred1new - 29 Apr 2015 10:52 - 59321 of 81564

I have grown few roots of Lovage for 40 years or so. I use very rarely, if I run out of celery. Very strong taste, never sure about it.

===

Try mixing a few Sorrel leave with Spinach for fish. It is a perennial, but not to everyone's taste.

Like the tories!

Miliband meeting with Russel Brand.

What on earth is this all about?

Advice from Russel?

Advice to Russel?

Advice from Miliband?

Advice to Miliband?

Any ideas?

Haystack: What's your take on it?

Haystack - 29 Apr 2015 11:06 - 59324 of 81564

It is just Miliband getting desperate. Brand has a following and his own channel on YouTube. It is a way of Miliband appealing to young voters and getting lots of hits. Of course, other people watch the video. I watched it, so did my wife and my two boys. We are all Conservatives, so his hits don't mean a lot.

It is also a desperation measure, because Brand has told people not to vote at all. If Miliband wants to encourage people to vote, then he should have tried this BEFORE the voting registration date passed. Social media for politics is vastly exaggerated as the people who watch it are mainly activists anyway.
