Birmingham Pie and a Pint

Fred1new - 31 Oct 2004 17:08

Any punters living in Birmingham Area interested in a Pie, Pint and jaw, one evening in a pub in Birmingham area.
Personally interested in small time investing(gambling), developing an appetite for CFDs. Also developing an interest in Charting or TA.

I use Sharescope, Moneyam, Barclays, Comdirect and IC

Survivor, Thanks. Still looking and holding EZJ. Similar thoughts but will look at software Radio. Nloticed it spiked up and down and trend is down. Projected earnings interesting, but NMS atrocious. What is the spread?

survived87 - 28 Oct 2007 15:03 - 596 of 1427

spread is fairly volatile - can be anywhere between 0.5p and 3p - SP likely to be a bit unpredictable next week - it's the deadline for expiry of more than 10m warrants... big move in SP up or down probably dependent on whether the anticipated big Chinese military order actually comes thru (or not) - so in a way it's a bit of a gamble....

An EZJ pilot caught drink-driving just ten hours before a flight has been allowed to carry on flying passenger planes....

Another company in to digital rf stuff that is highly speculative with good potential is Nanoscience Inc. (NAN).... that's already on a moneyam discussion thread....

seems MacHattie is personally due to be at the covered warrant seminar on 14th Nov. here's the schedule:

6.00pm to 6.45pm
Discover SG Covered Warrants
Speaker: Richard Miller, Retail Structured Product Distribution

6.45pm to 7.30pm
Market overview
Speaker: Andrew MacHattie, The McHattie Group/McHattie Investment Management Ltd

7.30pm to 8.00pm
Q&A and refreshments

PS: wonder if that is 'refreshments' or "refreshments"..... if the latter, we'll have to toast Fred again.... !!

55011 .... forgot to ask last time I saw you ..... I presume your avitar is a reference to D9011 / The Royal Northumberland Fusiliers ?

Stan - 30 Oct 2007 18:38 - 599 of 1427

The Covered Warrants Seminar on the 14th has been canceled I here, probably in your in-boxes for those who have registered, reason given is "unforeseen circumstances".

survived87 - 30 Oct 2007 19:01 - 600 of 1427

Stan... noted.... found it in my inbox. They've said 'postponed' so hopefully it will take place at a later date..... If one or both of the two main speakers have had to prioritise other commitments then probably better to postpone ..... unlike that other lot last week...

Perhaps we can see if a pre-Xmas 'pie & pint' meeting is possible ..... did Fred say he'd be available by then.... ?>>>

Seems Greg Secker's Traders University is back in town (Brum) soon with the following dates:

Wednesday 7th November 2007
Tuesday 13th November 2007

Thought about going along for entertainment value.... but probably I'll give it a miss

Fred1new - 31 Oct 2007 08:28 - 602 of 1427

With luck GOD will be there.

I haven't tried getting into a car yet, but I can use a black cab or buy another car.

Hope to be out and about within 2-3 weeks.

survived87 - 31 Oct 2007 11:36 - 603 of 1427

Morning Fred .... look forward to seeing you again if you do make it for a pie & pint out before Xmas....

>buy another car
don't forget... no sports cars or Ricaro seats....

Also there is always Ring & Ride providing a door to bar bus service, which is aimed at meeting individual drinkers travel needs:

Shares in Birmingham pub group Mitchells & Butlers continued to climb yesterday after it emerged late on Tuesday that Elpida had taken a 3.36 per cent worth about 85 million.

Sainsbury's demonstates what can happen when bid hopes are dashed.

Wonder if the good Doctor has taken a break recently from his tea management to steal a glance at MCRO. Or maybe he oughn't - might get a trifle over excited.

Fred1new - 06 Nov 2007 14:31 - 607 of 1427

55, Still hold MCRO, Very Happy

Also hold BPRG or now known as MELDEX MDX even happier.

Was considering dumping both as they were doing nothing on the surface.

Sold Autonomy at 965.5 which of course went up another 10% next day, but initially bought at 490p. Price has dropped back since 10% and noticed today director sell of approx 1million STG.

I did E-mail you earlier. What are you up to?

Martini - 06 Nov 2007 14:35 - 608 of 1427

Doing a Brum run today.
Afternoon in the canal area off Broad street.

If interested can I propose we meet in the Wellington at 5pm for refreshments. This is assuming that the venue will be in the center of Birmingham.

55011 - 07 Nov 2007 12:36 - 611 of 1427

Stan - 07 Nov 2007 13:25 - 612 of 1427

survived87 - 15 Nov 2007 18:08 - 613 of 1427

Stan - 15 Nov 2007 18:25 - 614 of 1427

Fingers crossed that it doesn't turn out to be another W/Spreads debacle -):
