Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

Alan,

Yes it would appear so - I think it is a case of a cached page in the AOL browser, but I unfortunately have no idea how to clear it from that browser I am afraid.

Why should I find I'm logged out of L2? It has happened a few times today.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 06 Jul 2007 11:53 - 5966 of 7315

Chea,

I will get Alex to take a look into it,

also keep being asked to login , do you have a bit of a problem

IanT(MoneyAM) - 06 Jul 2007 11:55 - 5968 of 7315

maddoctor,

just replicated that here - Alex is going to do some restarts to see if that clears the problem.

Guys,

thanks were are doing a restart with some of our machines at this end which should cure the problem.

Ian

Chea - 06 Jul 2007 12:04 - 5972 of 7315

Ian,

Thank you for the speedy response.

Chea

IanT(MoneyAM) - 06 Jul 2007 12:05 - 5973 of 7315

right we have done the restart, you may be asked to login again due to said restart, but all should be fine from there on in.

Di,

Can you close down terminal and log out of MoneyAM and then back in and that should sort out your issue,

Ian

Morning Ian,

A few times over the last few week days, I keep being logged out when I change from one page to another (for example, from a tab Stockwatch to Investors room and back). It's not my broadband connection as another site is OK.
Occurred, last Thurs, Fri and again today.
Not a big problem, but a bit annoying.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 10 Jul 2007 08:55 - 5977 of 7315

greekman,

I will get Alex to take a look.

Ian

Chea - 10 Jul 2007 09:03 - 5978 of 7315

Also logged off of L2 this morning.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 10 Jul 2007 09:04 - 5979 of 7315

Chea,

Was that just once or more than once as it may be a case of your login just expiring naturally, however, Alex is trying to replicate this and work out what is going on,

Ian

Chea - 10 Jul 2007 09:08 - 5980 of 7315

Ian,

I logged in just before 8.00 am and was logged out a few minutes after 9.00 am.

greekman - 10 Jul 2007 09:12 - 5981 of 7315

Ian,

Answer may be obvious but what do you mean by login expiring naturally (your reply to Chea). I thought level 2 meant No Log Out.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 10 Jul 2007 09:15 - 5982 of 7315

greekman,

When you login we set a login session cookie on your machine. This has an expiry set after a certain time period, this is for security so if you login on another computer, and forget to log out the session will expire after that period.

Thats basically what I mean,

Ian

greekman - 10 Jul 2007 09:27 - 5983 of 7315

Thanks, understand now, also makes security sense. To clarify my earlier post, I had only been logged in just over an hour.
No rush re your reply as out now.
