Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

Morning Ian,

A few times over the last few week days, I keep being logged out when I change from one page to another (for example, from a tab Stockwatch to Investors room and back). It's not my broadband connection as another site is OK.
Occurred, last Thurs, Fri and again today.
Not a big problem, but a bit annoying.

greekman,

I will get Alex to take a look.

Chea - 10 Jul 2007 09:03 - 5978 of 7315

Also logged off of L2 this morning.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 10 Jul 2007 09:04 - 5979 of 7315

Chea,

Was that just once or more than once as it may be a case of your login just expiring naturally, however, Alex is trying to replicate this and work out what is going on,

Ian,

I logged in just before 8.00 am and was logged out a few minutes after 9.00 am.

greekman - 10 Jul 2007 09:12 - 5981 of 7315

Ian,

Answer may be obvious but what do you mean by login expiring naturally (your reply to Chea). I thought level 2 meant No Log Out.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 10 Jul 2007 09:15 - 5982 of 7315

greekman,

When you login we set a login session cookie on your machine. This has an expiry set after a certain time period, this is for security so if you login on another computer, and forget to log out the session will expire after that period.

Thats basically what I mean,

Ian

Thanks, understand now, also makes security sense. To clarify my earlier post, I had only been logged in just over an hour.
No rush re your reply as out now.

greekman - 12 Jul 2007 07:55 - 5987 of 7315

Morning,

Been logged in for about 60 mins, already had to re login, after tabbing from 1 epic on L2 to another.
As said before not much of a problem, just a bit annoying.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 12 Jul 2007 07:55 - 5988 of 7315

thanks for the feedback greek, Alex is looking into this.

Whilst on the trades link I clicked on the Help button top right of age, and the following message appears..

In this section you will find descriptions and helpful hints on what each area of the website does and how to use it.
This area provides a comprehensive breakdown of the site and a user friendly help guide.
If you require any further assistance with any function on the website then please feel free to contact our dedicated customer support team.
Details of how to contact us can be found by clicking on the contact button at the top of the page.

It does not usually display this, it usually sends you to a list of subjects.

When any other page is displayed and I click same help button, all is OK

Is there a fault. Could someone else try whilst displaying Trades, to see if the problem is widespread or from my end.

Thanks Greek

kimoldfield - 12 Jul 2007 17:41 - 5991 of 7315

Hi Greek, there does seem to be a problem, albeit intermittent, I have tried Trades 3 times, it came up correctly the 2nd time but then went back to the message you had, on the 3rd try.

Is there a problem with level 2?

I have about 5 stocks on my l2 screen - and moving between them is painfully slow
