In Asia today, the Hang Seng closed the morning down 52.57 points at 15,576.12, while the Nikkei was recently up 12.19 points at 14,763.03.

New York's main oil contract, light sweet crude for July delivery, was down 11 cents at $71.52 a barrel from its close of $71.63 in the US Friday.
