Coca Cola league 2006 - 2007 (AFCB)

Andy - 09 Sep 2006 00:48

I think we need a discussion thread for non Premiership football clubs, ie the Coca Cola league, The Championship, League one, League two, and of course, the Conference clubs.

Stan,

Ok, sadly that bar is no longer there, although there are promises of some sort of matchday club.

Here's "our" Darren signing on the pitch today, or is he self-certyfying his first sicknote?

Time will tell, and thanks for the good wishes, we'll probably need them!

It was well worth the 200 mile round trip and the admission money to see Darren's goal yesterday!

What a scorcher, and a quality display all round, Darren oozed class, and sprayed the ball around the pitch with much aplomb IMO.

A great start to his AFCB career.

Bournemouth 1-1 Scunthorpe
Darren Anderton's spectacular debut strike earned Bournemouth a draw after falling behind to Scunthorpe.
The ex-England winger hit a delightful free-kick from 35 yards out which smacked the underside of the bar and bounced into the back of the net.

The goal cancelled out Neil MacKenzie's early opener which saw the midfielder bury a left-foot shot from 15 yards.

And Scunthorpe could have secured victory had striker Billy Sharp not missed two gilt-edged chances.

I have only noticed Bournemouth since that miraculous hat-trick by Hayter a couple of years ago. I can't see why he hasn't moved up a league or two as he is skipper now I think.
