Darwen says there may be scope for some collaboration with Tanfield on smaller vehicles, but says double-deckers will at best be low-emission, rather than zero emission, with an emphasis in the next decade on cleaner diesel engines with hybrid power.

BAYLIS - 28 Feb 2008 16:17 - 14 of 49

Darwen produced 170 buses last year but has increased production to a rate of about six units per week and hopes to make 10 a week by the end of this year, when the company is expected to make pre-tax profits of about 2.4m from sales of some 30m.

The company, which is backed by investors such as Aberdeen Asset Management and Barclays Capital, is not raising any new money in the float, which is being sponsored by Andy Stewart's Cenkos Securities.

cynic - 28 Feb 2008 18:14 - 23 of 49

the first part of the post stands ... the second part presumed, not unreasonably, that the chart was correct ... and still an unimpressive debut

BAYLIS - 28 Feb 2008 18:20 - 24 of 49

THANKS for the input CYNIC. ONLY 3 days old.

Most of the floats start by dropping and then come back later (except for New Brit palm Oil) : incredible that one !
