Yeah, he would say something like "short it to 5p, then if your brave enough, rockets 4p". ;o)

redordead - 25 Jan 2003 15:14 - 7 of 24

Pleased to see a few old nicknames over here.
THUS as you know cost me a lot of dosh and I amsure that I am not alone. I sold out as I had worries about the following:

1 The Board seemed to show their lack of experience and understanding, of how investors look at every signal they send out as a buy or sell sign. I am in the main refering to Bill Allens purchase of 1000 worth of shares, sum time ago when they were rock bottom. This was not taken well by many. What were they doing, I can only think that they were balancing their personal boooks not thinking of the effect on the share price.

2 Bill Allen has said in the past that he is not at all conserned in the price of the shares. Well I do believ that he has seen the light in this one but again shows perhaps a lack of experience.

3 THUS a re locked in a battle, which I have not investigated of late, as I no longer hold THUS, with a former employee. He is disputing Allens line that he left THUS. He is claiming 900K or there abouts. He has employed Fox Williams who do not taken on losers! This could cause large scale damage. Not just in the scale of the claim but the fact that the persuer is widley known to disagree with Allens direction for THUS. He is also has majot problems with Allens direction for THUS.

4 The Cable and wireless situation is also worrying Allen, I think, is a bit down at THUS's failure to aquire a larger market share while so many of its competitors have gone to the wall. Will he jump ship to Cable. I think that this is less likely than befor however, it has been a key reason for my not getting involved of late.

5 Fidelity curring their relations ship with THUS has also caused me difficulties, they have supported the share price heavily in the past and have to question their eagerness to take such a large loss in such as short space of time.

Bill Allen comes across to me as a very nice guy, he seems honest and as I have said before prides himself on not leting the city down. I only wished that he had the same intrest in not letting the small investor down!
The company is in my opinion going well, but what is it with out Bill Allen. I think that he coul have do all THUS holders a favour by pledging his future to the cause. How could h do that? well he could part with some of his big fat bonus and show everyone he believe that THUS is a winner and he is staying where he is.

Those are my thoughts, not designed to short the stock or create any abusive remarks as we saw on some THUS threads over at ADVFN.

Wishing you all a pleasant weekend

Hi red, nice to see you.

I have said before this may become a buy (as you know) at 5p ish but we will wait and see

Wisebeast - 25 Jan 2003 19:08 - 9 of 24

Rather fatuous comment above! "It may become a buy at 5p." Care to provide any analysis? Will you miss the 5p buy, buy at 7p after a recovery/trened establishes...short now and take 5p to close? Come on, let's have some interesting contributions!
Or are we too busy making silly little graphics to pester the Minters? (A thread, incidentally, I read daily, and once which has provided astoundingly accurate predictions of the current THUS decline, this despite chartists calling it up to 12p just over a month ago when the Minters were calling it down.)

rocket fuel - 26 Jan 2003 14:19 - 10 of 24

Ultimate Cynic - 29 Jul 2003 15:14 - 21 of 24

Had a shock when I clicked the "Research" button on this company. The address is "Griffin House", and my immediate reaction was "are they sharing offices with Griffin Mining?".
No, just a coincidence of names. Griffin Mining's office address is different.
I thought I had uncovered a conspiacy!

Still no change

Analysts at HSBC upgrade Thus Group Plc (THZ1) from "add" to "buy." The target price has been raised from 38p to 42p.

In a research note published this morning, the analysts mention that the company has recently reported revenue growth of 10%, along with a 13% increase in profit margins. Thus cuts its losses

Thus will later this month sell its contact centre business, reflecting the tough market operators are facing as a result of companies outsourcing their contact centre business to low-cost countries like India.

Thus is selling its loss making contact centre business to market specialist Response Handling for 1.75m, allowing it to concentrate on core operations such as broadband provision to businesses.

The Thus contact centres provide outsourced inbound and outbound calling capability to a wide variety of major companies based in the UK, and Response Handling will now pick up these contracts.

The Thus contact centres employ 1,000 people and transfer details are yet to be finalised with staff.

Turnover for the contact centres was just 21.7m for the year ending
31 March 2004, compared to 24.6m the previous year. The division made a loss before tax of 1m last financial year.

William Allan, Thus chief executive, says, This disposal will sharpen our focus on our key growth areas of data services, and it protects the best interests of our customers, ensuring business continuity and quality of service.
