ANYTHING GOES(APART FROM RACISM/NON PC SUBJECTS/ETC)

superrod - 11 Jun 2003 19:26

doesnt leave much does it? but lets try and kick start this site into action. posts are very few and far between. why is that? talk about anything but TALK. its free but it wont last without input......so PUT IN a post or two here and there.
and this time next year we will all be MILLIONAIRES

Andy - 12 Jun 2003 23:18 - 6 of 61

supperrod,

I agree copmpletely, but, with the greatest of respect, this header title isn't likely to encourage people to even come in, and it's hardly an obvious starting point for discussing any share, is it?

I suggest if there are shares that you are interested in, you start some threads!

I'm a member of the Financebb.com, and over there it is fairly quiet, so I have started various threads on companies that interest me for whatever reason. I start each thread with a graphic of the company, (if possible),
a 1 year updating chart (free from www.bigcharts.com), links to the company websites, and possibly a brief explantion why that company interests me.

Why not try something like that here?
You never know, it may generate some interest.
You can register at www.financebb.com(I have no connection), and then check them out, some of these shares have done rather well lately! But then again so has the market!

There are already some decent shares discussion threads on am, we just need a few more to add to the vibrancy.

regards,

Andy.

superrod - 14 Jun 2003 21:22 - 7 of 61

andy
you are right about the header but it was intended to get ANY kind of discussion going. of course i would rather it was share talk but after 3 days offline i see only half a dozen posts in total on the whole site ( unless my pc is telling porkies ). thanks for your input

rod

ps snappy......nice one

Andy - 14 Jun 2003 21:31 - 8 of 61

rod,

AM lost quite a few posters whilst the Ainspoph haters were trashing all his threads, and now they, and him, have gone, we are left with a fairly quiet BB.

What have now is a decent base, we just have to build the IR from here.

superrod - 14 Jun 2003 21:39 - 9 of 61

fair enough andy but its like tumbleweed town here

i just wish more would use squelch instead of arguing. i used to rise to all the baiters and made a decision to squelch. the quality of posts has improved ( from my viewpoint obviously ) and my blood pressure must be well down.
enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Andy - 14 Jun 2003 22:15 - 10 of 61

Cheers Rod, you too!

I will start a couple of threads to try and restart the IR!

Andy - 14 Jun 2003 22:31 - 11 of 61

( It's called banning everyone who has something to say super-odd....it tends to have this effect..)

Andy - 16 Jun 2003 00:46 - 17 of 61

Rod,

I guess the "protaganists" are still here, but minding their P's and Q's!

Yes it's difficult to build up the BB when it's so quiet, as people no doubt log in, see nothing interesting, and move onto another BB.

I actually belong to all the major BB's, as do an increasing number of fellow posters! It seems there is so little interest in the current market that people are desperately searching all the BB's for news/info etc.

Hopefully we can build this BB up in time.

superrod - 17 Jun 2003 21:43 - 18 of 61

what a DREARY day
is this site ever hoping to make any money?

Tris - 18 Jun 2003 06:14 - 19 of 61

Hi Rod, just popped back here to check for info on one of our favourites :0)nothing doing Im afraid. We could start a new thread on our joint venture, but with oily and his/her mates still here whats the point!!! Lifes too short to put up with the abuse etcwhy bother??
As Andy says desperately searching all the BB's for news/info etc. sadly this BB was damaged by they who know best whats to say it wouldnt happen again!!! As I said lifes too short or as Spikes army pal (Private Mulgrew) always said, Fem. Very funny book btw

Superrod,

I applaude your attempt to engender discussion but quite frankly it seems to me that people are leaving mam in droves for some reason. I logged in earlier today and the last threads I looked at are only a 1/4 down the page with no posts whatsoever!

I think mam have been overzealous in their censorship and the bb might, I fear, be in a terminal decline. Hope not because I initially thought it had some potential. Nonsense posts from people like sequestor are permitted because he has subscribed, and the guy takes great pleasure goading everyone who disagrees with him and then hiding behind his shield. This pisses people off. Money AM need to be balanced regardless of who has subscribed, perhaps then chaps would take the bb seriously and return. You know how the British feel about fair play! We even go to war over it.

Still good luck with your thread.

Andy - 20 Jun 2003 22:07 - 24 of 61

macCavit,

I fear you are right, but for the opposite reason.

Ainsoph was posting here when the site opened, and there wasn't a problem.
Then certain people arrived, and started the baiting slowly, posting little "test" messages on Ainsoph threads.

Then the real action started, and at that point AM should have stepped in and banned them, IMHO.

They didn't and watched a personal battle rage, and nearly all the threads were trashed, but still nothing was done.

Finally, as the exodus from the BB increased, (and the combatants were copying posts between Am and ADVFN!), they finally stepped in, much too late, IMHO.

Sadly those that have left have yet to return, and AM has lost the chance to become the premier finacial BB, for now at least.

Andy.
