MoneyAM portfolio (MOAM)

rpaco - 19 Sep 2003 10:16

Does anyone use this facility?
If so can they explain how the gains/ losses are calculated? Is it all on mid price? Do you add the tax to the commission figure when entering new stock? (and have to enter the mid instead of the offer price)
It still shows gains/losses against each transaction rather than against a holding. It doaes not seem to know when you have sold all of a stock.
cheers

czechmate - I will pass your comments onto Felix - please E mail me with any specifics and we will see what we can do.

I too feel that the portfolio facility could be a lot better.

I wanted to add how much cash I had at the start then, as I add stock, see the cost of my transactions reflected in the cash amount.

As it is, it looks like I've got lots of stock and lots of cash. (that would be nice)

rest of the site is excellent.

czechmate / ricardopage,
could you explain in more detail exactly what features you'd like?

Felix,

I'd like it to be a bit more like the stockwatch page with columns for the price a share was bought, cost of total contract, current value, profit/loss (in 's and %)

thanks for taking time to read posts, appreciate how difficult it is to please everybody.

czechmate - 09 Oct 2003 16:27 - 10 of 18

Hi Felix

Thanks for responding. Similar to ricardopage: what I would really like to see for each share are columns:

Total number held which increases/decreases with any bought/sold
Total cost including commission and tax
Average price paid per share
Current bid price
Current valuation
Profit/Loss in s and %
Daily performance

I too know that you cannot please everyone; just my wish list. Thanks

ricardopage - 09 Oct 2003 16:35 - 11 of 18

I'd also like a column that gives the price for tomorrow... ;)

Felix,

Can I butt in too?

I would also like to see the average price per share because at the moment, if you make more than one transaction in a particular share, it shows as multiple transactions. Would be nice if it showed as one trans and adjusted the price paid to show an average.

Mid prices are also a pain. Profits are artificially inflated as it doesn't reflect the bid price and losses (not that I've had any of those of course) are not shown to their full extent.

As above, this is the only poor area in an otherwise excellent site.

Have added all these suggestions to the portfolio wishlist.

Oh, and just one last thought - cash entries please which are added to the value of the holding as separate item. Won't bother you again - well, not for a while :) but thanks for listening

Felix(MoneyAM) - 10 Oct 2003 14:54 - 15 of 18

OK, I've added this to the list too.

Would also like to see overall totals produced for costs, value and profit and loss at bottom of each portfolio created please.

Duly added. Will look at these next time I can block out some
time to work on it,
