Melrose Resources (MRS)

keith thomas - 26 Mar 2004 12:52

Anyone have any views on this? It was a recent play of the week in Share magazine a few weeks ago. They claim it has enormous potential, possibly another Cairn

mitzy - 17 Jul 2004 22:55 - 6 of 92

Shares magazine has Melrose as one of the blue sky tips of the year at 276p.

mitzy,

the chart looks positive, I may well have a few next week.

Oil and gas is the sector to be in at the moment IMHO.

Yes Andy..I remember them being tipped in the Telegraph back in April at 220p but I never bought any at the time; however as you say the chart looks impressive with a possible break-out if 300p is broken.Long term they could rise much further according to the chart.

Big Al - 18 Jul 2004 17:32 - 9 of 92

I have these as part of my CFD trading collection in 3 lots - 237p and 250p from last month and added at 275p Friday. Plenty potential IMO and I think we could see 3 (hopefully holding it) with in a week or two.

Recent open offer was 95% taken up in a heartbeat.

When she moves, she moves very quickly!!! ;-)

As noted above, smallcap oil and gas is probably the hottest sector just now.

What is Happening to MRS, does anyone know?

gavdfc - 18 Aug 2005 22:45 - 14 of 92

Hari,

Don't know too much about MRS to be honest so can't comment if the recent fall is down to company specific news, it's not one I hold. But looking at the chart, it's had a great run up from around 240 in June to a peak of about 400 in August. Not bad for a few months work! :-)

I guess one could argue that on the back of that rise alone, it was due for a bit of profit taking of some sorts? But what I would say that it has probably just been hit along with the likes if SIA BUR DNX VPC PMO etc in this overall pullback of the oil sector. Just my thoughts FWIW.

Thanks for that Gav

mitzy - 19 Aug 2005 09:33 - 16 of 92

I'm still in..

keith1966 - 29 Jan 2006 15:11 - 17 of 92

Talk of a bid from Dana Petroleum in Herald newspaper today.

required field - 21 Dec 2007 18:19 - 18 of 92

There must be a rebound sooner or later on this stock, really beaten down,
now in production in Egypt with levels increasing, and a serious drilling program to
start, and director buying, job to know where the bottom is.

required field - 24 Dec 2007 12:23 - 19 of 92

There is a little upturn today, could we start to see my expected turnaround ?

required field - 31 Dec 2007 09:04 - 20 of 92

Possibly hit a resistance level, could this be bottoming out now, hope so!

required field - 04 Jan 2008 11:57 - 21 of 92

Good news today, at last the start of a possible rise.

mitzy - 04 Jan 2008 16:53 - 22 of 92

All we want is a bid above 400p..

required field - 04 Jan 2008 18:29 - 23 of 92

Frankly, I'm surprised there's not more people buying this because to me at least this looks very promising.

mitzy - 04 Jan 2008 19:02 - 24 of 92

Held for nearly 4 years now and still down.

required field - 07 Jan 2008 12:08 - 25 of 92

Don't sell now mitzy, steady climb now, should go past 325p.
