Is this the end for theDFD rally( Or just Nervous investors Pocketing Profits) (DFD)

scenicroute - 04 Jan 2005 19:30

Any opinions to where DFD is heading next ?.. Unfortunately I bought in at 1.60 apiece, and was sickened to see the big drop at the end of business today.

I do hope" Debt Free Direct " is just taking a well earnt breather Before steaming ahead again later this week.

Does anyone agree or is there something we should know.

Look forward to hearing your views.......

A lot to take into account here. Not least the fact that the original tranche od stock issued to create the company is now free to be sold and has, undoubtedly, contributed to the price drop. There are always heavy debtors in this type of business but the essence of it is that its always received.Anyone who watches a price rise of approx DOUBLE and then purchases the stock deserves to be certified - unless they have priviledged info - there are ALWAYS price dips in the best of companies and THATS when you salt the stock away - and this one IS WORTH SALTING AWAY.

I think the drop is a bit overdramatic IMO. The volumes of customers continues to increase. Perhaps better that they expanded so soon after the interest rate rises so they are more able to deal with increasing customers who are now facing problems as the rot has set in.
I appreciate what you are saying partridge but I agree with Hilldee.

Just in case you missed this mornings news.

Debt Free Direct swings into H1 loss as overhead rise outweighs sales increase
AFX

LONDON (AFX) - Debt Free Direct Group PLC said it swung into a pretax loss in the six months to Oct 31 after a sharp rise in overheads more than offset a 66 pct increase in sales to 3.09 mln stg.

The group reported a pretax loss of 9,000 stg compared with a profit of 111,000 stg a year earlier and there was a similar dampening impact on EBITDA.

'Overheads and, in particular, employee numbers have increased significantly to expand our operating capacity and facilitate future growth.

'This has had a short-term impact on EBITDA during their initial training period,' the company said in a statement.

Nice tick back up today. The buy tip in the Independant has probably helped.

And I sold half my holding yesterday...:-( Still, made a decent profit on that half. Let's hope that the other half that lived to fight another day does so with gusto!
