Has anyone else experienced a falling off in quality recently?
With Squaregain I am finding that numerous attempts to trade, within the indicated sizes, are failing to go through. You just get a silly message saying " ........wait a few minutes for the trade to go through..." but it never does.
Are there any on-line brokers that, in users opinions, are more reliable in this respect?

Time to bring this debate back I reckon with the Increasingly poor service some people are getting from the now called Selftrade.
My take on things (based on personal use) Is:
1. E Trade= Dodgy shares platform.
2. iDealing= to smaller share quantities.
3. Selftrade= Error messages+ smaller and smaller dealing sizes.
4. TD Waterhouse= dodgey north American outfit.
I'm currently looking at Trying Barclays.
Whats the feeling out there?

If you're talking execution only, standard trading, I use ShareCrazy - yes I know it doesn't look necessarily as professional as some of the others, due to it's cartoon Joe Public character and yes it is owned by Hoodless Brennan who have been told off recently on some matter or the other and fined.
BUT I have found them great to use, cheap (9 per on-line trade) statements and site nice and easy to navigate and understand.
Touch wood I have had no problems with them and been using them for a few years now.

etrade give you a free level 2 if you trade CFD's through them..
I have found etrade far better than Barclays..for pure share buys
they will actively work your order...call you with an update
and tell you the lieklihood of getting filled later in the day
info from market makers... on your chosen stock to give you and idea of supply demand on their book
Never had a problem with their platform
all that for 6.95 a trade
When I seel the same stock through barclys and etrade...9/10 times the price achieved is higher than Barclays...
Barclays you feel like you are being processed though a machine...with their favourite " your order is moving up the queue towards execution"
etrade just execute it...Barclays feel its a benefit to be able to stay ...we are much larger than etrade in the UK..but that just traslates to execution delays...as you are just stuck in their queue....caused by their own systems...

Thanks All,
SB, I started to use sharecrazy a few years ago but stopped when they would not allow me to deal ETF's online and then didn't send some contract notes even when I rang up to complain.
Barclays not getting a very good press here so far, but more opinions required.
