get together (LOND)

cynic - 06 May 2006 21:34

I created this post on Traders Room ..... I'll copy across the last relevant post or two .......

Andy - 07 May 2006 10:16 - 6 of 23

Tonker,

Someone who prefers beer to wine it seems!

Only kidding, the meet is a good idea, and I am interested in attending if I can, that will be determined by the date chosen.

Tonker - 07 May 2006 10:24 - 7 of 23

Well I prefer beer to wine, I can do almost any date. Looking forward to it...

cynic - 07 May 2006 11:33 - 8 of 23

Andy .... if you e-mail with your preferred date(s), i'll try to accomodate

KEAYDIAN - 07 May 2006 19:36 - 9 of 23

Open to anybody?

cynic - 21 May 2006 21:33 - 10 of 23

Copied from Traders Room answer to ellieh - I have actually been waiting for some response(s) ..... confess I thought there might be rather more enthusiasm ...... IF, and it is dependent on "you guys n gals" wanting it to happen, my idea of a venue would the brasserie on the corner of Pelham Street and Brompton Road, within easy walking distance of South Ken tube .... I don't have my diary with me, but my date-thought from memory was 9th June, but will need to check and will post accordingly tomorrow morning ......

So troupers, if you want it to happen, please e-mail me, or at worst post here accordingly.

cynic - 22 May 2006 10:48 - 11 of 23

THE DEFINITIVE LOCATION ETC
Date = Thursday 8th June

Time = 7.00 for 7.30

Location = La Brasserie, 272 Brompton Road, SW3 - tel: 020 7584 1668
Within easy walking distance of South Ken tube

Average cost is reckoned to be 35-40 but of course that depends on how much is drunk.

I will book a table for say 12 peeps, but if insufficient firm interest, I shall cancel.

Isaacs' idea of a wine bar etc was also good, but as I neither work nor live in London, for me that had limited appeal ...... but if that is the way everyone wants to go .....

halifax - 06 Nov 2009 15:44 - 12 of 23

cynic - 07 Nov 2009 08:14 - 18 of 23

caught up with this when i got round to looking at Shares Mag
if that publication is to be believed, then it does indeed look to have very interesting prospects and is well worth a thread

Andy - 09 Nov 2009 23:27 - 19 of 23

cynic,

Absolutely, IMO.

Did you ever get the dinner organised?

If not, and you ever want to arrange something, I know of a few places where dinner would be cheaper , and we could have a reserved area within, say a pub, eg The Cabin near Piccadilly Circus.

Stan - 10 Nov 2009 07:30 - 20 of 23

Do you mean this one Andy?

The Captains Cabin : 4-7 Norris Street, London, SW1Y 4RJ.

halifax - 10 Nov 2009 18:28 - 21 of 23

sp moved up 6% today, results on thursday no surprises expected?

cynic - 10 Nov 2009 19:02 - 22 of 23

do me a fave ... i went to the trouble to create a proper thread .... let's use that!

Andy - 10 Nov 2009 19:38 - 23 of 23

Stan,

Yes well found.

Mining investors used to meet there sometimes, and everyone seemed happy with the food, which is reasonably priced.
