banjomick - 15 Jun 2004 08:48

INTELLIGENT INVESTING WITH BANJO,well sort of! (Ed-hmmmm-lol)

Galleon Holdings plc has three key divisions:Galleon Entertainment for entertainment type IP,Croco Worldwide for product IP,Phoenix for interactive TV services for broadcasters in China/South East Asia which includes Robot Information Technology (Lushy Assets ('Yunbo')) who are a wireless interactive platform service provider in China who will work alongside Phoenix to enable GON to hold on to a greater part of the generated revenue and so increase the profit margin......think that's the plan! :-)

This makes Galleon Holdings a 'One Stop Shop' to develop and complete new and existing IP's.

Galleon turning tides of losses Jun 29 2005

By Steve Pain, Deputy Business Editor

Galleon Holdings, the Stourbridge-based new media group headed by entrepreneur Jim Driscoll, has cut pre-tax losses for the six months to March.

The company, which experienced growth in all areas of the business, yesterday said that pre-tax losses had narrowed from 509,000 to 197,000 as sales rose 18 per cent to 553,000.

Chairman Mr Driscoll told shareholders: "Galleon's strategic objective to create, acquire, develop and own a significant portfolio of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) continues to attract interest within the industry."

He added: "The company remains focused on unlocking value in entertainment and product based IPR and during the last six months it has succeeded in this regard. "With the arrival of our new management team of Stephen Green and Len Dunne in January Galleon has the skills in-house to manage a piece of IPR through the whole of its lifecycle.

"Our strengthened skill base has undertaken a complete review of our IPR portfolio during this period.

"The current catalogue of properties includes Oggies, Professor Winklebottom's Universe, Malcolm, Astro Knights, Peppers Patrol and our latest property, Goalactika-442, created by Stephen Green and Len Dunne.

"As a result of this review conducted in consultation with J Christopher Entertainment, our Los Angeles animation studio, we have decided to prioritise and reposition some of the properties.

"We have taken back the rights for Astro Knights from Jaguar Media Entertainment as they were unable to progress with this project in a timeframe that was satisfactory to us.

"The rounded IPR experience that is now within Galleon has allowed us to assume full control of this project.

"We have also put into development a new sports fantasy kids TV show, Goalactika-442.

"This project has had a positive response from key broadcasters in the UK, US and Japan and we are now finalising its development with a view to going into production by the end of the year."

Croco, Galleon's promotions sourcing division, also made progress. "Our client list has grown significantly with a strong mix of new and repeat business," said Mr Driscoll.

" Orders of more than 60 million units have been achieved in the period and we are currently looking to secure an increase in business for the coming year."

A4, Galleon's publishing company, and Probe Media, its database marketing arm, also saw significant improvement.

"Our new sales and editorial teams have delivered increases in global advertising sales compared with the previous period from last year.

"We are attracting new business from territories outside of the UK and are achieving a much higher ratio of forward bookings.

"This allows for more efficient and profitable planning for future issues of our flagship publications," Mr Driscoll added. "Given that the growth of Croco, A4 and Probe Media is organic and sustainable I am confident that the turnaround of the group will continue during the course of 2005," he said.

This has finally started to move again rocketing today! MMs on the buy (small buys) but if they want to push it up fire away!

blackbelt - 01 Sep 2005 16:54 - 62 of 1609

The chart is dodgy but it held its way hitting rock bottom a couple of months ago! Its been gradually clawing a little back with higher lows! Ive a small investment in this one thankfully not at 30p like some poor sods but im happy to put them in the drawer and wait

banjomick - 01 Sep 2005 17:03 - 63 of 1609

blackbelt, I'll hold me hand up,I'm one of them 'poor sods' -lol

doughboy66 - 01 Sep 2005 17:08 - 64 of 1609

Like you blackbelt i had a small punt on this a few weeks back and think in time this will be worth a fair bit more than todays SP.
Just sit back and forget about them for a while ,i`m sure it will be worth the wait.

blackbelt - 30 Sep 2005 10:19 - 65 of 1609

Looking very good now its been a long while in coming but the upward trend has finally broken all the moving averages 200 and 50! looks like we could be in for a major push north with a golden cross to power us back to the early teens..........

Happy to sit and wait

banjomick - 30 Sep 2005 19:29 - 66 of 1609

The Galleon is looking a lot stronger, well it would'nt take much would it!
Yes,and even the charts are looking good but as always, positive updates are required to stop the price falling back.

banjomick - 30 Sep 2005 19:31 - 67 of 1609

In fact any update would be nice-lol

blackbelt - 03 Oct 2005 09:11 - 68 of 1609

And heres the good news we've been waiting for! You got to love the way share prices move before rns are announced I wish I had the contacts to find these things out in advance the price has crept up nicely!

Galleon, the intellectual property owner, developer and manager is delighted to
announce that Croco Worldwide, a wholly owned subsidiary, has secured a further
US$900,000 order for its children's premium goods to a major US FMCG company.

Additionally, the other primary division of the Company, Galleon Entertainment,
will be showcasing several new children's properties at MIPCOM TV Festival in
Cannes and is also in the final stages of negotiations with regards to a new
animation series likely to be commissioned for broadcast in the near future.

A new finance director to! Just sit back and relax profitability will be on the cards very soon........

banjomick - 03 Oct 2005 23:11 - 69 of 1609

Ask for an update and three days later......can't be bad!

blackbelt "Just sit back and relax profitability will be on the cards very soon........"
lol,yes when it rises another 20p!!!!

Well the MIPCOM Festival is this month 17th-21st where various parts of the galleon are showing.

This company appears to be turning the corner but have seen it all before, anyway the good news is that JD seems to be taking a bit of a back seat in all this, which has to be good news!!!

blackbelt - 04 Oct 2005 17:58 - 70 of 1609

Another tick up today we are in for a treat these days! Lets hope this festival will bring forth fruit.......Could be a good mention in shares or IC hopefully putting this one on more radars! A golden cross should hopefully keep it going along side good fundamentals 30p it is

banjomick - 07 Oct 2005 21:57 - 71 of 1609

I've been reading this year's announcements again, didn't take much notice
of them before now (seen it all before, over the last 2 years anyway).

The Two Croco contracts, first for $750k,the second by the same client before they had even received the first for $600k.....that shows confidence.
Think the views at the time were that 47 million products in total would have an effect on the profit margin.
The point is if Croco can keep these types of clients happy by delivering on time then bigger and better contracts tend to follow-imho

January 2005 was the key month where the new management team namely Stephen Green and Len Dunne arrived with their skills to enable IPR to be carried out in-house from start to finish.

Astro Knights taken back the rights from Jaguar due to the timeframe,Galleon now has full control over AK.
Goalactika-442 created by S&L should be in production by the end of this year.
Peppers Patrol is another property that stands out.

Then if that wasn't enough the allliance with Imagination crops up along with the acquisition of HHH Limited (exclusive worldwide licensing rights to the Hoo Ha House)from Imagination.
There will be 16 HHH books with one out already anthe others over the next 18 months.

A Hoo Ha House animated television series is currently in its final development phase at Imagination and expected to follow the launch of the books.

Above was mainly to get my GON head back on after last years....lets say disappointments!!

All looking very good now with the Galleon very much afloat

banjomick - 07 Oct 2005 22:27 - 72 of 1609

Not forgetting the recent $900k order secured by Croco

banjomick - 08 Oct 2005 21:24 - 73 of 1609

Does Skunk Fu! have the sweet smell of success? The new animated series will feature a skunk (below) who develops martial arts skills after being dropped in China by a stork. Galleon Holdings, the intellectual property group, is buying a 15 per cent stake in the creator, the Irish animation studio, Cartoon Saloon.

banjomick - 09 Oct 2005 20:49 - 75 of 1609

Skunk Fu!
Skunk is a western kid learning Kung Fu from a wise old Panda in China, so that he can help the resistance fight against the Evil Black Dragon and his Army of Ninja Monkeys.

A short-sighted Stork delivers a baby Skunk to the wrong address: China! In the enchanted Oriental countryside our young hero Skunk is brought up by his wise old master Panda, who patiently teaches him the Art of Kung Fu. The good animals of the valley live in fear of the evil Dragon who lurks in the mountain caves.

Skunk is brave but impetuous, he must learn to master Kung Fu and his temper if he is to defeat Dragon. This leads to many adventures with humour, action... and Zen!

'Skunk Fu!' is a 52 by 13 min series for 6-11's. Contact producer Paul Young for more information.
