Tanfield Group - any info out there? (TAN)

mr mike - 21 Jan 2004 13:49

Tanfield Group is the new company name of Comeleon. As I understand it, Comoleon was getting into trouble so TAN (paerent company?) took over. Since this has happened the share price has dropped by 0.25p each day for the last week or so (on average) and are now around the 3p mark with very little activity.

Does anyone know much about this company or previously held stock in Comeleon? There is virtually no info out there other than on the company website.

cheers

Mike

I'm a masochist 700202!

kimoldfield - 22 Apr 2008 13:10 - 601 of 1076

To be serious, I have faith in this company, it is doing all the right things and I feel that maybe there is just a touch of mischief making going on today. Don't know who to blame other than MM's, well that's a good place to start!

as in many things, the point of entry is all too important if satisfaction is to be achieved!

Nice rebound..long may it continue !

scotinvestor - 24 Apr 2008 09:47 - 605 of 1076

this is going down further i'm afraid.....and market volatilty will knock it down more in short term.

surprised at u buying this at 108p cynic for one thats cynical on most shares.....even more surprised as u seem to buy cos it dropped in price early in day

i've done that before and been burnt

cynic - 24 Apr 2008 09:53 - 606 of 1076

i am an ace at calling it right but buying it wrong!

dealerdear - 24 Apr 2008 09:55 - 607 of 1076

rather tragically i can agree with that sentiment cynic

two product coy ... both going great guns ... very cheap ... what more can you expect from an investment ? my only concern is that they seem to be going too fast while announcing many new models.

Tipton you are right strains will develop if supply starts to exceed real sales.

dealerdear - 24 Apr 2008 15:59 - 610 of 1076

Poor old Tan. haven't got it but would love to see sp recover.

Fear it isn't going to happen short term.

halifax - 25 Apr 2008 13:44 - 611 of 1076

Apparently TAN is not able to achieve the forecast production level for electric vehicles of 30 per month due to supplier constraints and is only producing around half that number presently. They are going to move the production to another site which will no doubt be costly in time and money. IN addition TAN is unlikely to become cashflow positive before the end of 2008.

Good reason not to sell and to accumulate more on the dips !
Good potential to make impressive gains in a couple of yrs time (imho)

halifax - 25 Apr 2008 15:35 - 613 of 1076

In order to achieve their targets TAN is probably going to have to find a partner with deep pockets.

Dil - 26 Apr 2008 00:49 - 614 of 1076

They'll get taken over by a big car manufactuer (Ford ??) before they realise their full potential imo.

A good buy on bad market days imo but I'm not back in above 80p.

Good luck to all , these have done me well over the last 15 months.

BigTed - 26 Apr 2008 18:23 - 615 of 1076

Just back from hols, so missed all the action, but almost find this predictable, i asked ages ago what the prospective PE ratio was, at current sp (as then 100p) and was under the impression it was still stretched, maybe hindsight comes into play here, but something stopped me from buying and i will wait to see if there is further to drop in coming weeks...

In Saturday's Times:

Tiddler to watch

Tanfield, maker of electric vehicles and access platforms, rose 3p to 97p despite an Investec warning that the shares were overpriced. The broker cut to sell with an 87p target. It said most customers for its Smith Electric Vehicle had trial vehicles only. Meanwhile, demand for its platforms looks set to fall as the US construction market slumps.

Suggest that before dumping TAN that one checks projected PEGS, Turnover and EPS etc.
I think you will see the share price going up. Unless the shorters are back in town.
