Handgags at three paces. Shamefull yes, but get a grip Joe. Many would say frustration. Lyon used tactics which Everton fell for. A bit of fight from a team struggling for conftdence, baffled by Koemans tactics but sadly stuck with them. They did ok.

What's your view of Bilic CD?

Chris Carson - 21 Oct 2017 10:07 - 6005 of 6918

I admire optimism but Ronald Koeman has just become the definition of deluded if he seriously believes this :-

Everton board are 'a little worried' about bad form, says Ronald Koeman as he insists he still believes in summer business ahead of Arsenal game

Ronald Koeman has admitted Everton's board are 'a little worried' about their current plight but says he is the man to spark a change in fortunes.
Everton's desperate run of form now reads as two wins from their last 12 matches and patience amongst supporters is wearing thin, with a growing number clamouring for change.
Koeman now faces a demanding run that will see his team play Arsenal and Leicester in the Premier League, Chelsea in the Carabao Cup and Lyon in the Europa League. He has to start winning.
Koeman is aware of the pressure he is under but he has faith that he can turn things around and said: 'It's not time to talk and to mention reasons why. We need to take this situation, what the situation is now and prepare our team for Sunday.
'Of course, we have discussions inside and can speak about tough fixtures and tough start to Premier League and Europa League football, but the position in the table is not the position where Everton need to be in. That's what we need to change.
'I still believe in the players and believe in the signings that we did in the summer.
'Maybe everybody can have some doubts about several signings at the moment but the future will tell everyone that the signings we did were really good signings.'

And while he revealed daily contact from the board, he said it did not concern him: 'Of course, we have daily contact, weekly contact. But everybody is of course a little bit worried about the situation. But that's normal.'
Frustration boiled over at Goodison Park on Thursday night, leading to incidents involving fans and a tempestuous atmosphere.
Even so, Koeman does not believe he has to try and bring supporters back to his side: 'I don't feel I need to win the fans (over). It's about winning.
'I was happy with reaction of fans after game, they supported the players as they did everything to win the game and that was nice to see.
'If they are against the manager that's about losing and not winning, that's normal.'

He seems confident that victory can come against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon, pointing to previous wins against the Premier League's biggest sides and a fresh squad.
'If you look back to last season we had some great games at home against really the big teams in the Premier League,' he added. 'Why not against Arsenal? Arsenal are not unbeatable, they are not the strongest team away from home this season.
'We know we need to improve and play better and if we bring the fight on the pitch and aggression on the pitch in a good way then we have a good chance to win the game.
'They rested 10 players that may start on Sunday. We took some decisions to rest some players for Sunday. It is a great game to play.'

Amscray......verb. to go away, to start on a journey, do one, hit the road, make ones self scarce...... Koeman is hearing slightly different versions when he is pitch side

I like the comments.. ha ha.. particularly the Southampton one. It's either laugh or cry. Maybe he can be persuaded to go to Barcelona after all.

Chris Carson - 21 Oct 2017 10:50 - 6007 of 6918

More chance of Bolton Wanderers it. :0)

Just a quick word about the euro-playoffs.....could be a situation where neither Irish sides get through or both do !....impossible to predict I would say....the Italians had better watch out because if Sweden go at them and take for example a two-nil lead to Italy for the return leg : they would be in grave dangers of being knocked out !....it's possible....unthinkable ..a world cup without Italy....and how do the Greeks do it ?...they have a chance again...somehow...they scrape through the rounds...though I would favour Croatia just this time....

And finally...I reckon Harry Kane will come second or third for the "Ballon d'or" this year with Ronaldo topping the range as usual.....

Not feeling it this morning after Friday night horror show. Brave call to stick with Slav by board. This has been ongoing for a year now.

VICTIM - 23 Oct 2017 10:09 - 6013 of 6918

I do wonder if they just don't know who to get in next CD , it results in a hire and fire situation , or maybe can't afford it .

Claret Dragon - 23 Oct 2017 10:21 - 6014 of 6918

Go back to when Sam left, the first choice picks were not interested in coming to WHU.

The same issue applies now I would assume.

Best they can hope for is 17th.

Chris Carson - 23 Oct 2017 13:36 - 6015 of 6918

Club Statement:- Everton Football Club can confirm that Ronald Koeman has left the club.

Stan - 23 Oct 2017 15:50 - 6021 of 6918

hilary - 23 Oct 2017 16:36 - 6022 of 6918

What do Ronald Koeman and the Titanic have in common?

Neither should have left Southampton. :o)
