Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Cameron will be asked by the EU to take some of the migrants from the problem in the Med , why should we ??
Will the other EU countries take the masses that come in to Dover ??
Now is his chance to put the EU in it's place ....

The Conservatives hae said that they will press ahead with plans to ban strikes unless 40 per cent of people vote in favour of industrial action in the government's first Queen's Speech. The government will also require turnout to reach at least 50 per cent of those entitled to vote for a strike to go ahead, and prioritise proposals to allow employers to hire agency staff to stand in. David Cameron is "determined to make the changes", his official spokesman said, as he pledged to stop commuters and parents on the school run from having their travel disrupted.

In theory, you are covered if you have a EHIC card, the reality is somewhat different.

maxk. the EHIC card is worthless in the eu
the doctors want cash or private insurance
you can go to the clinic in the streets but you will get nothing if you do not pay
my friends wife fell ill in spain doctor would not come unless you had cash
the hospital said get her back to the uk but if you have insurance we will treat her
we are not apart of the eu its a one way street

I agree with you Tanks, theres no free lunch in €urope.
It all started off nicely, but reality caught up with the ideals.
For example:
If you needed treatment in a Spanish hospital up to a few years ago, the EHIC card was respected.
The problems started when the repayment system went up the pictures.
Spanish hospitals were treating people, then submitting the bill trough the EHIC system, but the money was paid to central gov, who were supposed to pay the hospitals....of course, the funds went into central gov's account, and was not being passed on....result, no more free healthcare.

Maybe a handful. The health service in France is very good if you are French, in many ways better than ours.

That's all well and good H but if we are the only ones playing by the rules the unfairness of it all will breed resentment. Surely this is something that should be addressed by our government.
