Bought mine this morning almost at the low as I thought anything <22p would be a bargain and I had to go out at 10.30am. As soon as the line of stock is cleared we should see 25p again very quickly. I am hoping for an RNS before my holiday but at the end of the day todays price will seem cheap this time next year.

bosley - 15 Jun 2005 18:35 - 6019 of 27111

pth, please could you explain this bit .

"We won't see a SP rise until EVO come off the offer."

paulmasterson1 - 15 Jun 2005 18:50 - 6020 of 27111

PTH Hi,

I guess we will have to wait and see if any more T buys go through, the day the price goes back up 2p !

Strange how the T trades go through (1.25m worth) the day the price dips and recovers.

I watched this happen for the 3 weeks before we moved up the the Small Cap index, loads of price drops for no reason, and everytime the T buys cleared we moved back up.

Maybe EVO have got stock to clear, but all the other MM's would normally put pressure on them, and EVO would also try and stop any selling, and none of that is happening.

Not that I am that bothered, as I am keeping my stock for the 20 party :)

Cheers,
PM

Bos

It seems clear from the activity on L2 that EVO have a line of stock to clear, all of those 22.62p buys that went through without ever getting near the 22.75p quoted. The remaining MMs seemed content to remain on the Bid and leave EVO on their own.

This bit is speculation, but it does make sense.

The moment WINS joined EVO and shifted some stock at 22.75, other trades went through at 22.55p, these I assume were EVO trades offered at a further discount to the quoted Offer of 22.75. If other MMs join EVO on the Offer, and EVO want to move this 'overhang' the only way to ensure that they get the trades is to sell at a discount to the other MMs. If they raise the Offer to a higher level, they will find themselves competing with the other MMs. During the day there were a further three MMs sitting on an offer of 23p, so to have tried to sell at a better price would have meant greater competition and EVO would not have moved as much stock. Once EVO have shifted this stock they will come off the Offer and as long as there is still buying pressure we will see the Offer increase.

Hope all that makes sense BOS, happy to be corrected but I can think of no other reason as to the price stagnation today in view of the stream of buys.

Let's hope the two large T trades were also EVO offers to help them clear their stock then.

Whilst I would find it hard to believe that all 9.3m of new shares had been placed with EVO, who knows they may have taken a large slice on condition they were given preferential position to sell them into the wider market ahead of other MMs - anyone know if deals like this happen - after all someone's got to do it - some of the placees were bound to be brokers/MMs not all long-term holders. Maybe EVO was the only broker/MM to be placed with new shares, the others all going to longer term homes - hence EVO's out on the offer till its line is cleared, making a respectable 6-7% turn on the 21.15p placing price.

Is there any way of finding out how much stock was placed with which parties in instances like this?

As I've said on another thread this evening, this may all be bollocks, but at least it's the dog's bollocks!

IMO If you keep quoting ii, your stuff mixed in, does not get read but skipped over.
I do any way, we are fed up disusing the prat on here, we have read his stuff, degust his stuff argued with him, ask him questions, talked about him, analyzed him, is he being paid is he not being paid?
I am only going to say this once I am absolutely pissed off with his absolute garbage and I couldnt care a fcuk what he has got to say or scoring points against him, he keeps coming back because you converse with him thats what he wants if you want to do that fine but keep it to your self.

SD Hi,

Why would KBC place shares with EVO, 'the competition', when they could quite easily have sold them into the open market themselves, if they had any left, after all they are MM's and brokers too, and could have easily afforded to buy them ?

From KBC website .... http://www.kbcpeelhunt.com/2/Anim/IndexSales_trd.asp

Trading

Our market making activity currently covers more than 1200 stocks, making us the second largest market maker in London. We consistently rank within the top two in small companies in the London market, including AIM, as measured by transaction value.

Our balance sheet strength give us the ability to facilitate transactions to the benefit of both our institutional and corporate clients.

Hi All,

Take a real good look at the deals on these two pages, and then try and convince yourself that KBC Peel Hunt could not place all 44m Stanelco shares and raise only 9m ....

Interesting stuff re the placing. Clearly, KBC Peel Hunt and Evolution -play multiple roles. It strikes me however that the roles need to be clear in each particular case. Thus KBC carry out the placing for SEO but I suspect that they do not take stock themselves; they may well be an MM for SEO - perhaps this can be clarified. Evolution could well have taken a slice of stock: they then offer that to their clients making a turn and/or sell it on as MMs. Liked pth's perspicacious explanation of the process in the market today: perhaps one begins to see the argument for Level 2. sd wouldn't understand these things although I suspect he is a fan of perspicacious dog bowls.

So where from here. Pretty clear that the next move is up as there is plenty of buying around which today easily outweighed selling. My own view is that KBC Peel Hunt will have placed most of the stock with longer term holders. This would be in SEO's interest and their own. Nor will they have had any real problem in doing so as is proved by PM's quotations of their recent track record with much less saleable clients. We may have cleared th eoverhang already or believe we will do so in the next day or so enabling the sp to move forward pending the next RNS.

eric, I do understand level 2 which is why I have been able to offer answers to some of your questions.

paul m - please don't shout at me on these threads, I am not a moron. please moderate your style and volume (in both senses).

wilbs - 16 Jun 2005 07:20 - 6036 of 27111

In todays shares mag. Should send the price up.

STANELCO
(SEO) 23p
The shares fell back
from a recent peak of
29p following the purchase of the
Biotec Group for $25 million on
6 June and the well-supported
9 million share placing at 21p.
Biotec is a world leader in starch
technology, making high-grade
film for packaging which will be
cheaper than using oil-based film
if the oil price rises another 10%.
Stanelco aims to become a
leader in alternative technology
and is cementing its Greenseal
packaging technology as it
already uses Biotech starch
products.
After the third UK trial with
ASDA suppliers, the Greenseal
technology will be rolled out to
parent Wal-Mart suppliers in the
USA with several meetings and
trials already booked.
Cautious investors could lock in
some profits as the shares have
risen 500% since being tipped on
19 August 2004 at 4.5p.
