How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Morning All,

Just been checking on the cricket and the draw IMO is still looking good.

As long as Pakistan bat sensibly, patiently and not throw away cheap wickets. I think they'll try and build a decent total during this innings to not allow England a sniff at victory. They'll want to bat well into tomorrow's final day too. A draw for them is far more suitable as already 1 up with 1 more test to go.

Any other opinions?

I've certainly put my money where my mouth is as lumped heavily on the draw.

Harlosh - 23 Nov 2005 08:14 - 6033 of 10502

I'm not in Bak and price for the draw too low for me now.

Good luck with your position

Morning all

Didnt make the alarm call this morning - oops!!!

John, if it is bright, play will finish about 11.30

Harlosh - 23 Nov 2005 08:47 - 6035 of 10502

Thanks Steve.

Morning.

Fundamentalist - 23 Nov 2005 08:48 - 6036 of 10502

Doesnt look like i missed much - pitch still dead and the draw looking nailed on but likely to be a little wobble from 1 side between now and the end

Fundamentalist - 23 Nov 2005 09:27 - 6037 of 10502

The wobble started? Get that draw price back out :-)

Fundamentalist - 23 Nov 2005 11:00 - 6038 of 10502

Come on Freddie - complete the hat trick :-)

No one likes to see the cheat castled first ball

bakko - 23 Nov 2005 11:18 - 6039 of 10502

Steve, Do you know how many overs are left for today?

TIA

Fundamentalist - 23 Nov 2005 11:23 - 6040 of 10502

Bak

completely dependent on light though no more than 4 or 5 i would think

Shame Taufel refuses to give Inzi out - FLintoffs had him lbw twice now!!!

bakko - 23 Nov 2005 11:28 - 6041 of 10502

I need Inza to stick around a bit more to protect my position!

Fundamentalist - 23 Nov 2005 11:31 - 6042 of 10502

You backed the draw at skinny prices Bak ???

Fundamentalist - 23 Nov 2005 11:35 - 6043 of 10502

Got him - well bowled Harmy - Akmal out

Fundamentalist - 23 Nov 2005 11:38 - 6044 of 10502

183-6 at close of play - 199 ahead

Fundamentalist - 23 Nov 2005 11:43 - 6045 of 10502

Draw price in the morning dependant on Inzi - if he goes early it will fly out, if not will be 1.15 within an hour and a bit

bakko - 23 Nov 2005 11:45 - 6046 of 10502

No. Got in at 2.22 and 1.55 and scalping on the way down between the 2 prices.

Still well in the money but not greened up yet. Will have to if the wickets keep falling!
