A lot is down to Williams and Jagielka; they should be organising the line and they are also senior players - add Baines to that.

EDIT-SPOILER

England U17s in World Cup Final - beat Brazil 3 to 1.

VICTIM - 25 Oct 2017 16:15 - 6030 of 6918

Englands under 17s beat Brazil to go to World Cup final on Sunday , goals on BBC and live on BBC on Sunday .

Stan - 25 Oct 2017 23:02 - 6031 of 6918

Spurs 2 Spammers 3. Bilic in!

A pretty good result by Everton at Chelsea as well, I notice that Keane was dropped to the bench.

Burnley need a back up defender for our central defence and wonder if he wants back... 3 million say? 😃

Chris Carson - 26 Oct 2017 00:06 - 6032 of 6918

Aye swap him for Dyche Stan :o)

Joe Say - 26 Oct 2017 08:18 - 6033 of 6918

Stan - a good result ?????

NO WAY - they lost

Now had you said that they performed well, then I'd agree with you (without doubt in the second half) - as they created a number of good chances and but for the keeper and the bar they could have had a couple more.

Chris Carson - 26 Oct 2017 08:21 - 6034 of 6918

LOL absolutely awful result. How were those nasty Everton fans Joe? hope they didn't steal your prawn sarnie :0)

Stan - 26 Oct 2017 08:26 - 6035 of 6918

I disagree considering Everton's previous results this season, that "only" losing 2-1 away to your lot was a relatively better result.

Edit: crossed with CC's post.

Dil - 26 Oct 2017 09:51 - 6036 of 6918

It was a good result Joe , they are out of the Mickey Mouse cup that no one takes seriously and can now concentrate on more important things.

VICTIM - 26 Oct 2017 12:05 - 6037 of 6918

Sorry under 17s final on BBC2 live at 15.20 on Saturday . Should be good .

Stan - 26 Oct 2017 22:11 - 6038 of 6918

No can do CC, as you don't want him if this lot are to be believed https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/sean-dyche.99882/

Chris Carson - 27 Oct 2017 00:31 - 6039 of 6918

Toffeeweb a better site Stan. Dyche in my view would be a better choice than Moyes or Allardyce. Expensive mistake Koeman.

Dyche emerges as early candidate to replace Koeman
Lyndon Lloyd | Monday, 23 October 2017 69 Comments [Jump to last]
Burnley manager Sean Dyche is being trumpeted by some media outlets as a leading candidate for the Everton job in the wake of Ronald Koeman's sacking.
The 46-year-old had an unremarkable playing career as a defender but has gained increasing respect and admiration for the job he has done at the helm at Turf Moor, only his second managerial gig after spending two years with Watford.

After guiding Burnley back to the Premier League in 2016, Dyche steered the Clarets away from danger of relegation back to the Championship last season, mostly on the back of their impressive home form.

Both The Telegraph and MailOnline are speculating that the Kettering-born boss is high on the list of potential replacements for Koeman who was dismissed today after a sequence of poor results that left Everton in the bottom three of the Premier League.

Sensible comment :-

Maybe, before everyone goes nuts about wonderful flair and trophy laden managers and how them leading Sporting Bayern Milan to 58 titles means they are good enough for Everton, we should remember why we've just booted a supposed European great out of the door?.
We've got an odd mix of unbalanced players who don't fit very well together. In short we are far less than the sum of our parts.

We need a man manager in who isn't going to hit the ground running and have us playing like Barca by Christmas. We need someone to come in and find a playing style that knocks the mishmash of players we have now into an effective unit.

Once thats done then maybe we can look at nicking Mourinho from Utd or someone of suitable stature for where we believe we should be.

Now's the time for a hard grafting man manager to come in and make something of the mess. Rhino might have the local nouse and some respect inside the club, but, he doesnt have the Prem experience. Someone like Dyche maybe with Rhino as assistant might just be what we need right now if not what we might want.

Joe Say - 27 Oct 2017 07:53 - 6041 of 6918

Chris - they were alright - although not many of them and tbf I steered well clear of every 2 yr old I saw

What a farce yesterdays draw was - 2 hours to fiddle it such that the big 4 - chels, both mancs and west ham were all kept apart

Let's hope we have new sponsors next year

Chris Carson - 27 Oct 2017 08:22 - 6042 of 6918

LOL Joe, farce.

Stan - 27 Oct 2017 09:26 - 6043 of 6918

As some of us know clubs fielding weakened teams in the League Cup were fined and the sooner we get back to that situation the better IMHO. Not that I can see that happening all the while the authorities tolerate Murdoch money in the game.

VICTIM - 29 Oct 2017 07:18 - 6044 of 6918

Well that was well worth watching , under 17 World champs , the standard of play i thought was high , the way they finished their goals was superb and to come from 2-0 down fantastic . One of the best International games in many a year .

Dil - 29 Oct 2017 09:53 - 6045 of 6918

Yep well done England , great game to watch. All we need now is these kids to be given a chance instead of spending stupid money on average overseas players every transfer window.

Take Cardiff City as an example , we got a Phillipine goalie , Gabon centre half , Canadian wide man , Icelandic and French midfielders and a French and Danish centre forward. None of them are any better than what I saw yesterday playing for England.

Joe Say - 30 Oct 2017 07:50 - 6046 of 6918

Whats wrong with weakened teams Stan - especially if you're talking about the likes of Arsenal and chels?

At least these two get through.

The real anger should imo be directed at the mid prem teams whose only realistic chance at a trophy is the one many choose to spurn !!!!

Stan - 30 Oct 2017 09:18 - 6047 of 6918

It's wrong because it devalues the competition, that's why clubs were rightly fined.

Dil - 30 Oct 2017 12:39 - 6048 of 6918

In the first round that all the Premier teams entered each team made an average of over 8 changes to the team that had started the previous weekend.

Even the championship clubs do it these days.

As long as the players are registered I can't see what can be done about it.
