THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

To stop immigrants, we should help them develop their countries rather than being involved in internal conflicts and take sides.
Syria was better five years ago, now they are trying for find a place to live.... so they migrate to any place which is slightly better......

fine sentiments but even if you send cows, seeds, water purification and extraction hardware, if you have a corrupt regime, then little is solved

What does he know about what is heading his way!

hilary - 02 Jun 2015 17:59 - 60594 of 81564

Elections aren't till next March, and he's staying on till then. He wants to shred the evidence reform FIFA over the next 9 or 10 months.

Haystack - 02 Jun 2015 18:12 - 60595 of 81564

The theory is that his deputy will stand for election and Blatter will get the Asians, Africans and South Americans to vote for him. Then he can cover up everything. That way the recent contender who would have exposed everything still won't get elected.

It all depends of your age mainly.....

British support for staying in EU rises to 55 percent - Pew poll - Wed, 3rd Jun 2015 08:43

LONDON, June 3 (Reuters) - British support for staying in the European Union has risen to 55 percent, up 9 percentage points from two years ago, according to a Pew Research Center survey.

Prime Minister David Cameron, re-elected on May 7, has pledged to reshape Britain's ties with the EU before holding an in-out referendum on membership by the end of 2017, but he could hold it earlier.

British support for staying inside the EU rose to 55 percent from 50 percent a year ago and 46 percent in 2013, Pew said. The poll showed 36 percent of Britons wanted to leave.....

Support for the EU in Britain was strongest among 18-29 year-olds: 69 percent of them wanted to stay in while 25 percent wanted to leave. British people over 50 years old were the most sceptical age group about membership. .... more

cynic - 03 Jun 2015 12:09 - 60604 of 81564

i also think that there are very short odds that the vote will quite easily be for staying in

however, i very much hope that DC will at least manage to get some worthwhile "adjustments" ...... ideally i'ld like to see a long term commitment (from whom and how?) to overall eu review and reform as some aspects are nowhere near what was envisaged when there were only 7/12 countries involved and are in need of dramatic overhaul
