How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Game over as far as Engalnd concerned and draw looking nailed on - though a couple of early england wickets could create a little interest

Cant believe the catch Strauss dropped - and nor can the guy who layed the draw for 12k at 1.27 (it was at 1.19) as the ball was in the air

England 5 for 2 in the second over and Pakistan now got every chance - hope we all backed them at nice double figure prices :-)

Fundamentalist - 24 Nov 2005 08:00 - 6065 of 10502

Now 10-3 - getting worse for England but better for my bank balance :-)

Just switched on to find carnage! Eng really do know how to entertain!!

The 12k layer....Respect. LOL

Had a back draw in the market at 2.0 when the price was at 1.6ish - Commentator on the radio thought KP was out and kindly got me filled - 10 secs later it was back at 1.65 :-)

England price ridiculously short at 30 needing 240 to win with 6 wickets left off approx 45-50 overs on a 5th day wicket - should be 200+ imo.

Draw looking likely Steve or a Pakistan win?

Fundamentalist - 24 Nov 2005 09:18 - 6070 of 10502

Draw looking likely but a wicket or 2 before tea (half hrs time) would change that. Have just used some of my draw green to back Pakistan at 5.1

England price completely ridiculous - would have to score at over 7 an over to win from here but cant lay anymore as i am maxed out Red on England since earlier this am

Should have been up early this morning. Never mind, a few trades left to be taken in the closing hours of the Test. Overnight Pakistan back bet has done well but I wish I had automated it for a better result. Now on the draw, looking as though England are trying very hard for the draw so may just let the bet run with about 40 overs to go.

Edward

if no wickets in the next 25 mins before tea then the draw price will be 1.1 or thereabouts - been a cracking day to trade!

Fundamentalist - 24 Nov 2005 09:58 - 6073 of 10502

KP out before tea - greened up my last Pak back and have laid to scalp over tea

compoundup - 24 Nov 2005 10:10 - 6074 of 10502

Pietersen's wicket was costly for England.

Draw back bet currently flat. Thinking about laying the draw in case Pakistan get another wicket. If they do it should run a mile.

Fundamentalist - 24 Nov 2005 10:19 - 6075 of 10502

had another small back of pakistan at 4.8

Fundamentalist - 24 Nov 2005 10:48 - 6076 of 10502

Freddie gone but we should hold on from here :-)

bakko - 24 Nov 2005 10:53 - 6077 of 10502

Any ideas on how many overs to go before dodgy light sets in?

TIA

schiff - 24 Nov 2005 10:53 - 6078 of 10502

How many overs to go?

schiff - 24 Nov 2005 10:53 - 6079 of 10502

Two minds!

Fundamentalist - 24 Nov 2005 10:54 - 6080 of 10502

Game should finish approx 11.35 - 11.40 based on previous says so i guess 10-12 max

schiff - 24 Nov 2005 11:13 - 6081 of 10502

Just come up - 22

Fundamentalist - 24 Nov 2005 11:14 - 6082 of 10502

schiff

if you mean 22 as in overs - that is the official number but no more than 30 mins play left beacuse of the light - be lucky to get 5 more in if a couple of wickets do fall
