Will this increase or decrease the likelihood of terrorist actions in America, Europe and the rest of the world?
If you were a member of a family murdered in this conflict, would you be seeking revenge?
Should Tzipi Livni and Ehud Olmert, be tried for war crimes if or when this conflict comes to an end?
What will the price of oil be in 4 weeks time?

Unfortunately, fom past experience trusting some of the Israeli administrations is almost impossible for the Palestinians.
Their behaviour seems to be relying on primitive responses and greed at the expense of those who they see as inferior.
That is developing into a two way street.

cynic,
I agree that Egypt is somehow accepted by both parties and may come up with a ceasefire.
The problem is that so far 21 people were killed (18 Palestinians and 3 Israelis) and many more injured some of whom are disabled. The people cannot easily forget the loss of their loved ones and will push their government to revenge.
I do not see any interest in peace over there, I think the situation will most likely escalate.
US has not said anything serious about the situation. I don't know why!

Britain’s first elected police and crime commissioner Angus Macpherson has admitted the general public did not know “what the job is or who the candidates were” as just 6.8 per cent of voters support him.

Corruption is everywhere. You cannot kill people because their government is corrupt or you don't like them.
How can you support war.

I think the most efficient route to peace is education. We had over 50 years to educate the people of that region, but didn't do that. Now internet is helping a lot, time will resolve the issues, I believe.
When you start a war, you have to "destroy the community to gain control", kill many people some of whom are inevitably innocent, and that's wrong.
Tanker,
You don't like go to bed and sleep with Hamas, do you. You should spend hours to shave them first to find something interesting.
Have you ever thought about its practicality?

mna very true .
israel and the people of gaza should seat down and talk to each other.
but not with guns at there heads .
and have the talks on tv so the world can watch and listen
then niether side can call the tune .
lets go down the road of one big country for all
and all have the same rights .
and if any one breaks the rules of law be dealt with .
this is the path to peace ..
but the talks must be seen by all on tv

Fully agree with your suggestion.
All the talks between the two parties and also any outsider with any of the parties should be live on TV.
Each party should be able to have internal private discussions for itself anyway.
BBC, I think, can lead on this and take the responsibility of broadcasting.

Watching CNN just now there was a comment from a journalist in Israel. "Netenyahu assassinated the Hamas leader as a pre-emptive strike to prevent a long term ceasefire".
The last thing Netenyahu wants is peace with an election in January.
