Mediwatch-A World Leader in the Urology Diagnostic Sector (MDW)

banjomick - 10 May 2007 23:36

*****This thread is setup mainly to gain information
relating to Mediwatch in a quick and easy way and IS IN NO WAY A
RECOMMENDATION TO BUY!********

Mediwatch-A Synopsis:
Mediwatch was established in 1996 and has developed a range of specialist
medical equipment for the diagnosis of urological disorders. The group joined the
AIM in 2000 through a reverse into Prostcare plc, which at the time was valued at
8m.While the vast majority of sales were generated in the UK,there was a
substantial indirect export business involving a number of agents, supplying into
Europe,North America,Australasia and Asia,notably Japan.
Group revenues are set to increase rapidly following the acquisition of the former
Medtronic Urodynamis Division, which has introduced a fundamental presence in
North America. The deal was in 2006 with the sales division building from 2007.
With the inclusion of the Medtronic systems now owned by Mediwatch they now
can offer a 'One Stop Shop' for the diagnosis of various urology disorders with the
benefit of Mediwatch systems having the ability to electronically send data from the
various tests to a central data base!Oh and plus the added bonus of PSAwatch and
now PCA3plus!

More than 30 million PSA tests are performed annually in the USA alone!

Just for the record and to even things up,this is Treblewide's view (near end
of 2008):

"in short 3p by chrimbo and a real chance if they do not get rid of management they
will go into receivership.....when they bough the MDT business I said at the time it
must have been a bag of shite as they only paid buttons for it.......looks like that was
fairly correct......i feel sorry for shareholders"

Treblewide has been filtered from my eyes for his abuse, lies and general behavior but
it's a free country (I think) so do as you see fit.

It started with:

Treblewide - 05 Jun 2007 15:49 - 33 of 1747
still short

Treblewide - 18 Jun 2007 00:24 - 69 of 1747
interesting stuff from that article...very few men die from prosate cancer and it is not an agressive disease....treatment can be worse than the disease.......kind of suggests their whole business model is based on sand to me.......but hey who wants a balanced view.

Treblewide - 18 Jun 2007 00:31 - 76 of 1754
exercise and sex may cause a raised PSA...so you guys may have stumbled on a test for fit shaggers :-)

I am gonna name Me-Di-Watch

Gonna-go-bust-soon-iwatch

Treblewide - 18 Jun 2007 10:59 - 85 of 1754
minder...i do not make light of prosate cancer....show me one post where I do...i make fun out of this company yes but not the disease so wind yer neck in pal.

show me any trace of a profit and i will maybe change my mind

Treblewide - 18 Jun 2007 15:54 - 97 of 1754
minder made a small loss yes which I have more than made up for shorting it........and i guess your average holding is 3p.....aye right.

Aalso I closed out my short at 8p for a loss of the spread if memory serves me correctly.

currently short from 13.25....i thank you and goodnight

Treblewide - 23 Jul 2007 12:36 - 154 of 1747
more of the same......thank god i still do not own shares in this lot...will they ever
make a penny profit....looks doubtful......cannot even manage a small supply chain.

ect ect ect

with the last few posts:

Treblewide - 30 Mar 2009 09:16 - 1704 of 1754
you are a lunatic mick.....words fail me.

and ps i only post under treblewide on any financial web site....i know you cannot say the same......you have been calling this as a buy and nothing but a buy for about 7 years...it says it all really about your stock picking ability

i notice the downtrend ins now establishing itself....re-visit of the lows again by the looks of things

Treblewide - 30 Mar 2009 22:41 - 1712 of 1754
mick no i dont know what each product does...i dont think that is important...the numbers tell everything and even though you must spend hours on web sites searching for stuff that is not even related to MDW you fail to grasp the basics...they consistently lost money and now seem to be making some...my call to 3p was correct and i think if they had not got their shit together they could have gone under

i was not interested in them as a long play while they were loosing money depsite whatever rubbish you posted regarding piss sticks or whatever you bang on about.

and yes it was poor trading..having an avergae of 12 and averaging down to 6-7p while they were at 3p....is terrible trading...that cannot even be debated...the very fact you know so much about the products means you have fallen in love with this company......which is very dangerous when investing....

the numbers are the important things...i was right on 3p, the company is posting slightly better figures but we are in a bear market which has not bottomed yet so the price will fall further

you are a 1 trick pony that posts irrelevant links...dont bother to respond i can be bothered getting into a debate with you.....away and cut and paste some more flags

toodlepip

I have been chased from here and now ADVFN,has the boy got a problem?

treblewide - 3 Aug'09 - 14:46 - 22345 of 22412

post 22342 is classic.....so mick advfn is not a good source when the consensus is sell?

begs the question why you spend so much time polluting it with your bull tripe?

question....so MDW share price has gone up, it has gone down etc etc...during all of that time has mick ever been able to find any subjectivity in his posting ie has he ever critisised anything?

i really think he may be getting paid by MDW...the whole thing is very bizzare.

mick i notice you referred to your threads as "promotion of Mediwatch"

can you confirm if you are getting financially rewarded by the company for this?

664k overdrawn....takes a long time to pay back at 39k profit every 6 months.

drawn down overdraft has increased by 170k and they paid 33k to service that overdraft and made 39k profit...as i keep saying my local fish and chip shop make more money than this lot.

margins have been squeezed...psa watch now off the agenda in terms of updates....not 1 single reason to buy and yet you lot think this share price will go up??.....am mystified why it would increase? genuinely why is this comapny under valued?? i cannot see it and dont bang on about fairfax saying they are going to make x amount...they have never been near to getting it right

if i were a holder i would be selling now at 6p if i could and buying back in the 2-3p range which the chart is saying is now a certainty....i expecta full year loss

i told you all to sell at 14p and at 11p (it is all there in black and white) and that it was going to 3 pence..i got abuse mick called me an idiot and suggested it was going to 50p......still a sell and my short (which was posted in real time over the road) is nicely in profit.

toodle pip...will log back in when it gets to 3p....

still time to get out at 6p.....dont understand why you would not sell at 6p when they are obviously going to half in value...if you are a long term mdw bull you can buy twice as many shares at 3p and maybe possibly one day see a profit on your holding?

treblewide - 4 Aug'09 - 12:44 - 22381 of 22412

last chance to sell at 6p for your shares folks

treblewide - 4 Aug'09 - 14:48 - 22387 of 22412

so question...is psawatch is so great...why has there been no huge surge in revenue figures from UK and Europe on the back of it being sold?

the whole reason a lot of you hold this is psawatch...it has not made them any money in Europe which could be argued when taken as a whole is not much smaller than the USA.....this company is not going to change overnight with US approval...at bets it would be a selling opportunity for long term holders

i really think a lot of you have to ignore some of the nonsense ramping going on here...the company is draining cash and there margins are reducing (despite this wonder PSA machine they have for sale)

i really think the future looks bleak for mediwatch...if someone can put in concise terminology why MDW is a buy i am all ears....dont point me at fairfax report...they are a bunch of clowns as well...that interim report is shocking and i mean really poor.

costs out of control...margins squeezed, cash running out...no real revenue growth, does this sound like a growth company to you?

sell at 6p

treblewide - 4 Aug'09 - 15:50 - 22391 of 22412

god i have heard it all now...mick can you counter my points about declining margins and cash issues without nonsense posts about peopel having insider information...what a crock and what a clown.

so just so i have this straight in my head...when you put in effort to ramp these shares it is all great and you expect cuddles? (and if anyone disagrees you throw your toys out the pram liek an old woman)

when i put up a few posts to explain why i am short it is an organised attempt to get the share price down because i have insider inforamtion from the US?

were you the Iraqi information minister in a previous role? lol

treblewide - 5 Aug'09 - 19:24 - 22409 of 22412

lol.....shares getting sold today at 5.75.....next stop 3p...

treblewide - 5 Aug'09 - 19:29 - 22410 of 22412

i wonder what thier overdraft is limited to....1M?

if so they have 12 months of life left at current perfomance...how many of you hlders have considered the chances of them going bust?....i would not rule it out...would love to know how much further the banks will let them go into debt before they pull the plug

treblewide - 5 Aug'09 - 19:37 - 22411 of 22412

seriously if i were a holder i would look at the interims and ask how much longer can they go on burning cash.......and with all the averaging down the bulls have done over the years i bet some are more exposed than they should be....good luck...think you might need it

I wonder if we will see a close working relationship with Bostwick Laboratories in the future for other tests?

MDW are growing into a pretty big company with their gold seal products offering high accuracy at a reasonable cost along with a major global distribution network that labs having gained the relevant approvals for new tests will I'm sure be looking at MDW with great interest to increase their profit margins!

banjomick - 28 Jun 2008 13:02 - 610 of 1785

I will have to post info.on what will be MDW's competition to build up a picture on the PCA3 test,I don't have a problem with this as MDW are not about one particular test.

Medi-Lab Mon 10th Mar, 2008

"Currently, Medi-Lab is the only UK accredited laboratory that is ready to provide the Urine PCA3 service directly (by in-house testing) and is co-operating with PCT's and PBC's that are interested in conducting pilot studies to investigate the potential savings that could be made by using the urine PCA3 test as an aid in the diagnosis and or surveillance of prostate cancer along with or in place of some prostate biopsies.

The reason that Medi-Lab is in this unique position is that they have been using the Genprobe NAAT specialised equipment for the Aptima Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea tests for several years and the urine PCA3 test has been developed and validated exclusively on this equipment.

Therefore prior to the launch of the PCA3 test in Europe in November 2007, Genprobe selected Medi-Lab as their ideal testing facility for the UK.

Medi-Lab's Laboratory Manager, Paul Hayward, has subsequently undertaken and successfully completed a stringent training programme provided by Genprobe in Brussels and is in fact the only UK Chartered Scientist that is qualified and experienced to run the PCA3 test and to train other Medi-Lab Scientists in this specialised procedure.

The number of requests for the Urine PCA3 is steadily growing and so far have been exclusively from the private sector.

Hopefully, NHS patients with the prostate dilemma will soon be able to benefit from this cutting edge technology."

http://www.medi-lab.net/newsdetail.php?id=24

Regarding Bostwick Laboratories PCA3 test the 'PCA3Plus',it sounds like MDW will have to have specialists within a lab based situation to carry out the test, this training could be carried out at Bostwick's UK based lab?

Then again if you read the announcement:

"Mediwatch, (AIM: MDW) has acquired extensive rights to distribute a new ground-breaking molecular test which could have a major impact upon the detection of prostate cancer."

Does this imply that MDW will just offer this test via their website and global sales teams with samples being sent to labs that Bostwick Laboratories are going to build or have interests in outside of America? I know they only have their main labs within the USA and one in the UK.

banjomick - 28 Jun 2008 16:10 - 611 of 1785

No wonder the PCA3 test cost around 200 at the present time and yes Minder you were correct in saying the PCA3 is carried out in the USA.The link below is a step by step instruction on how the PCA3 test is carried out, this is for Caris/MPI's PCA3 ProfileR,not sure whether Bostwick Laboratories 'PCA3Plus' will follow the same path,I would have thought so though:

PCA3 ProfileR Assay

I. INTRODUCTION:
Molecular Profiling Institute, Inc. (Molecular Profiling) receives urine specimens from
various hospitals/medical facilities throughout the United States for PCA3 ProfileR testing.

http://www.carismpi.com/products/downloads/PCA3Protocol.pdf

banjomick - 29 Jun 2008 19:16 - 612 of 1785

From DiagnoCure and their second quarter 2008 results, released 13th June 2008 which gives an indication of how new the PCA3 test still is along with the growing interest that is being generated:

PCA3 testing

At the end of March, DiagnoCure and Gen‐Probe, the Companys PCA3 development and commercialization partner, participated in the European Association of Urology (EAU) annual meeting. Two posters discussing the clinical utility of the PCA3 test for prostate cancer risk were presented and very well received by the attending health practitioners.

In May, the PCA3 test was a subject of several key presentations and three exhibits at the meeting of the American Urological Association (AUA) in Orlando, Florida, attended by urologists from around the world. Gen‐Probe featured the test in its exhibition booth, and Dianon (LabCorp) and AmeriPath (Quest) had their versions of the test prominently featured as well. Dr. Yves Fradet, Founder and Chief Medical Officer of DiagnoCure, presented the latest clinical information on PCA3 to an audience of an estimated 10,000 attendees.

In April and May, the value and performance of the PCA3 test were featured in two important articles published in the Journal of Urology. The first one established that PCA3 is an accurate marker for prostate cancer that may reduce the number of unnecessary biopsies. The second article concluded that PCA3 scores correlate with both tumor volumes and prostatectomy Gleason scores, both of which are measures of prostate cancer aggressiveness. As a result, researchers suggested that PCA3 may have clinical applicability in identifying men who have low‐volume or low‐grade prostate cancer and who could be followed with active surveillance instead of requiring immediate treatment. This latter article received significant high visibility press coverage in the United States and in Europe, and the study could further increase both the utility and market potential of PCA3.
The publication of these results coincided with the announcement that the Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford,U.K., would now have the PCA3 test reimbursed by the National Health Service through their local trust.

banjomick - 30 Jun 2008 00:27 - 613 of 1785

Very interesting discussion on the PSA test which shows not only the limitations of the PSA test but more importantly how the test results are being interpreted.Think this vid was from 2007 which was the year the PSA test started to be appreciated again from studies that showed that more frequent PSA tests to form a chart were a step forward.
Regarding the PSA test,it's not a test for prostate cancer but a cheap and quick test that can if used correctly along with the DRE and on a yearly basis can highlight the possible early signs of prostate cancer to enable further testing to try and catch prostate cancer at an early stage and so treat the condition. The earlier prostate cancer is identified the better chance a man has to survive this condition!

Ideally the PCA3 test would follow from a sudden change in PSA results over time or from initial high PSA test results and so eliminate the need for unnecessary biopsies in patients.

As a rough cost guide:

PSAwatch (PSA test) + DRE = 15+ Result time=15min

PCA3 test= 200+ Result time=2 days-1week
Biopsy = 500+ Result time=not sure but out of MDW's control, couple of weeks?

banjomick - 03 Jul 2008 18:41 - 617 of 1785

Evening scot,
May go lower,who knows?

I'm obviously here for the long term so not worried if the SP drops further, has to be seen as a great buying opportunity except I've got no spare funds for investing at moment.Seeing PSAwatch in action may evoke a bit of interest in short term though!

scotinvestor - 03 Jul 2008 19:14 - 618 of 1785

yes, time doesnt bother me either as i'm still a young thing....and its good to try and help society and fellow man.....would like it to be a bit higher after holding for 4 years though

banjomick - 03 Jul 2008 20:29 - 619 of 1785

Obviously I would prefer the SP to be 14p+ by now but for whatever reason it's not!

As you know MDW where 'approached' in January of this year and that drove the SP to the 14p area but after takeover discussions had ended the SP dived and has not recovered since, the state of the markets hasn't helped.

Interim results are due this month which will,in my opinion, see a pretty big increase in profit status compared to their maiden profit reported in H2 of February's Final Results.

Regarding the PSAwatch vid.it was good to see input from the Nuffield Hospital chain (near end) who have 32 hospitals in UK:

"Nuffield Hospitals continues to grow and is extending into new areas. We currently have 32 hospitals (31 in England and one in Scotland) and our services now include employee health and wellness (Nuffield Proactive Health) and Europes largest and most modern fleet of mobile hospitals and operating theatres (Vanguard Healthcare)."

banjomick - 03 Jul 2008 20:43 - 620 of 1785

Also,I will have to look later at the other hospitals that were mentioned but having an association with the Nuffield hospital chain gives PSAwatch credibility and great exposure for sales in other countries!

Riding for prostate cancer research

Published on: 6/9/08.

by JUSTIN MARVILLE

PROVEN TO BE the No. 1 killer of men in the country, prostate cancer has become a serious challenge in Barbados.

Thankfully, one team of cyclists is prepared to face that challenge.

Barbados Cycles For Charity is a team of four riders, who for the last two years, have raised $50 000 for cancer research and other charities by successfuly completing the renowned L' Etape du Tour in France.

The annual 30-year-old event, which takes place during one of the rest days of the famed Tour de France, sees more than 8 500 amateur riders from around the world cycling through some of the same mountain stages of the Tour.

The team will be off to France once again, but this time, for an even more gruelling challenge.

From July 5 to July 22, the four-member squad will be riding for 15 consecutive days through 100 mountain passes of the French Alps, covering about 2 000 kilometres starting with La Mormotte and concluding with the Galerean Challenge.

Treblewide - 04 Jul 2008 18:09 - 624 of 1785

big spike..lol

will not be buying these in near future...i really did think about it but i think the stock market has a long way to go down yet so am still mostly in cash.....dont see any big return on MDW in the near term..

good luck you have waited 5 years i think you will have to wait at leat another couple

banjomick - 04 Jul 2008 18:17 - 625 of 1785

Evening Treble,
Well, the spike upwards looks good on chart above! :-)

I bet you have a mattress full of MDW shares but I think your just in denial and I don't mean the river!

Another 2 years? MDW will be bought out at 80p (just a guess) by then!

banjomick - 04 Jul 2008 18:27 - 626 of 1785

Forgot what I was going to do now...oh yes.

Relating to the PSAwatch video and the Urologists representing the three hospitals:

Nuffield Hospitals

"Nuffield Hospitals continues to grow and is extending into new areas. We currently have 32 hospitals (31 in England and one in Scotland) and our services now include employee health and wellness (Nuffield Proactive Health) and Europes largest and most modern fleet of mobile hospitals and operating theatres (Vanguard Healthcare)."

Nuffield http://www.nuffieldhospitals.org.uk/about_us/aboutus.asp

Spire Healthcare

Spire Healthcare now has 36 hospitals across the UK, with a total of 1,983 beds, providing services for private patients, both those funded by health insurance and those who choose to pay themselves. We also treat NHS funded patients under the governments Free Choice scheme.

http://www.spirehealthcare.com/About-Spire/

The Princess Margaret Hospital, part of the BMI group

BMI Healthcare, the UKs premier private health care provider with acute care private patient hospitals and outpatient centres in 56 locations around the country and over 2,600 beds. Handling over 250,000 inpatient and one million outpatient visits each year, nearly half of the procedures undertaken for private patients are of a major or complex nature.

Treblewide - 04 Jul 2008 18:48 - 627 of 1785

80p lol you are kidding yourself on...it is obvious we are going back to a bear market again and buy outs and cash for purchases will be minimal and you think someone will pay 120M for a company that turns over 5-7M per year?

hmmm forgive me for being sceptical...if it ever gets to 14p again take it and run like I told you to last time.

good luck

banjomick - 04 Jul 2008 19:11 - 628 of 1785

It's quite possible we could see 15-20million for this full year! imo
